I'm happy to talk up the cowboys. When you consider not just the population of NQ but also how fragmented the fan base is their crowds, TV ratings and financial success off the field are second to none.

As someone living in the hunter though i'm going to talk up the region. Also I stand by my comments re crowds. No club in the NRL bar the broncos draws as well as the knights do when they're at the bottom and if the knights saw regular success they would likely average more than any club bar the broncos. Shit Newcastle is a victim of it's own success and ends up getting all these 6pm games because we're willing to showup whenever.

That`s an incredible crowd for a 6 o`clock kick off. Hats off to Newcastle.
Despite the defeat all is far from lost with that team, playing with real heart, could easily have won that one.

Yep less than the NRL opener.

Terrible footy for the opener, low scoring.

And the tv ratings proved what a shit game it was.

The AFL has a lot of problems when footy fans are cursing the low quality of footy in the opener.
