Surely they will sell the full 32K tickets to a final. The hills have ben nowhere near full the last 2 weeks. Hill should always be standing room only.

Hopefully Canberra beat Cronulla next week so Newcastle & Canberra can host week 1 finals with Penrith and Brisbane.
I agree, it will be the biggest event in Newcastle for so long.

Same with the second point. A Canberra sell out will look good.

I thought the reason grounds with hills were limiting capacity was for health and safety reasons these days and not that they were just not selling the tickets.

And on the Warriors home final, personally i would like to see it at eden park just because i believe they would sell it out and we shouldn't lock out 20-25k people that want to go to a game.

The NRL owns the finals series so they can pull rank. If they force the Wahs to play at Eden Park they better force Cronulla to play at Allianz.

We have to be careful here that we don`t kill the goose that lays the golden egg. It`s great when you take a young family to the League and there is an area where kids can run off and play (and you know where they are) when their attention span starts to wane.

Well that's what I was thinking, the nrl will take it to EP for more revenue but then i remember the whining that cronulla did thru the media and we ended up with a final at a 12k shark park. So anything could happen lol

I think that`d be absolute madness and a real slap in the face for all the Warriors` fans that have made Go Media stadium " our house" this year. In future if you want first dibs at a finals ticket, become a member.

That's one way to look at it and for regular season games I agree.
But for me, EP is in the same city and is twice the size, no point turning away paying customers. Yeh the atmosphere and views may not be as good as mt smart but it's not exactly an oval like the mcg.
Plus some of the 'bandwagon' that will go to EP may become members next year after experiencing a big final in a big venue.

Rabbitohs and Roosters are still on track to record the highest regular season crowd in Sydney this year.

According to the SMH tonight, a crowd of between 40,000 and 50,000 is expected on Friday night at Accor.

This aligns with seat availability + ticket sales (single seats only for the three open bays for gold reserved in level 4).

A crowd of 40,000+ would be:
- One of the three highest Rabbitohs/Roosters crowds in the last 50 years (59,708 for R26 2013 and 41,906 for R25 2022)
- One of the 11 highest regular season NRL crowds in Sydney in the last 10 years.

Really hoping we see the media hyping the game, both clubs promoting the game and people coming out in force. The opening of level 6 east at some point during the week would symbolise a crowd closer to 50,000 than 40,000.

I think if they had got a week one finals game it would have been at Mt Smart, similar to how they let Sydney clubs play at their home ground week 1. Since Warriors will finish 3-4 a week 2 or Prelim home game will be Eden Park if I had to guess. 40k+ for a club game in NZ would be awesome, anything over 31,261 would be bigger than all International & club Rugby Union crowds in NZ in 2023 since the All Blacks didn’t play at Eden Park.
