Penrith crowds for Prelims at Homebush
43k v Warriors in 2003
46k v Canterbury in 2014
50k v Souths in 2022

I reckon 30-35k will be the baseline going off that,

Playing it at Allianz would have been better - offer free public transport with the ticket.

Run extra express trains from Penrith to Central, then get on the tram to Moore Park from Central.

Surely the NRL & NSW government could have worked together to make this a big event. Its where the game needs to be smarter.

Broncos fans have been gouged again.

Sidelines at the Broncos game. $115-$140 vs $80-$95 for Penrith.

The NRL is clearly leveraging the Brisbane sell-out to cover a (possibly) small crowd at Accor. Solid business model in that regard, but merkin move.
Meh it's a prelim final and therefore a premium event and it's worth what people are willing to pay.

The difference isn't huge and let's be honest, they could double that price and they would fill it. Says more about the other game really

All of those teams bring significant fan contingents with them compared to the Storm so yeah I reckon 35k is probably about as much as it’s likely to get.

That's true. They could possibly run the same pricing if they had it at Bankwest rather than Accor. Penrith fans don't need to deal with a scarcity complex when it comes to tickets at Accor.

I remember this thread in 2014, we were all hoping and *expecting* 60k haha.

Bit of a meltdown that night because the night before Souths and Roosters were roasted for only drawing 52k and ended up beating this blockbuster.

Good mems.

Isn't the Panthers choice where they want to play finals in week 2/3 - and they chose Homebush

Souths v Roosters got more people at homebush for Round 26, 2013 then a prelim Final in 2014.

It really was quite bizarre.

Was there something else on that we didn't about.

From memory they started pricing finals too highly after the 2009, 2011, and 2012 prelims that pulled over 70k and the crowds dropped off a cliff.

I reckon there's about 6 million eshays who support Penrith now that they're winning, 5,999,970 of whom have never been to a game.

I reckon they would make more money on it being played at SFS easily and possibly bankwest too but Penrith want it at Accor.

Think that Prelim against South was 2022. Lol don't want to give Souths fans false hope about this season.

Yeah maybe - Parramatta werent involved in finals between 2009 to 2016.

So i didnt even look or remember what the prices were then haha. We were out of contention by April in a lot of those years.

For us Parramatta will always draw a big crowd in Sydney finals because we have a large supporter base.

Similar to Tigers if they ever get there act together they are a sleeping giant.

If a Tigers v Eels ever played in a final they would get 70k at Accor for it.

Damnnnn - Suncorp is very close to selling out, maybe 5-7k left - restricted view seats should be put on now, and same with those held back.
