Nine has the news from 6pm to 7pm. And with the coverage starting from 7pm, you will have the usual half an hour chit chat with the game eventually kicking off at 7:30pm AEST, 9:30pm NZ time.
Bizarre that we have to schedule around the nightly news bulletin like it’s 1993. Who still watches this? Gonna blow their minds when they find out about the Internet…

It's only channel 9.

I noticed the fumbleball have put there game on at 5:15pm next saturday to avoid the RL next week in Brisbane. So channel 7 don't care about the news.

With the warriors playing it should have been 4pm at suncorp so the warriors fans in NZ get a decent time slot. Not 10pm at night with 8pm kick off here.

It's going to finish at 11:30 at the earliest in NZ. It should have been a 6:50pm kickoff and just have the news from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Casual sports fans in Brisbane can either watch live fumbleball or grating pre-game NRL waffle before the Broncos game kicks off. Some - despite all logic - will choose the fumbles.

I doubt the Warriors are complaining too much. A 4pm kickoff could mean significant heat which would advantage Brisbane.

6:50-7:00 would’ve been ideal though.

As I said before Brisbane and the Warriors was NEVER a chance of being played at 4:00 pm at Suncorp!
Penrith and Newcastle had to play at a time suitable for the Warriors but not the channel nine pets!

Knights and Roosters to host home finals for the NRLW Premiership at McDonald Jones and Allianz Stadium respectively.

Will be interesting to see if they do any promotion and what crowds they can draw. Knights v Roosters last week drew 3,634 as a stand alone match

Makes sens3, Broncos rate way higher than Penrith so worth moving Panthers to make Sky NZ happy. But not worth moving the Broncos

AFL scheduling has nothing to do with "avoiding the RL" - apart from COVID years, they always schedule the Saturday prelim in twilight hours. It's to allow the away team if they win to fly home that night and have a full 7 day prep for the Grand Final.

So we can easily expect a sell out at Suncorp for Broncos vs Wahs. Do we see the Panthers vs Storm game crack 50k too? For the amount of supposed Penrith fans I see yapping online 24/7, I better see that same amount at Accor on Friday.
Realk talk though, I personally think anything under 40k is a failure on the NRL's part, as if it's sub 40k, you could have played it at either Bankwest and Allianz for 1) better atmosphere and 2) looking better on TV.

Penrith fans will go... those dickheads that sooked all week 1 about not using bigger Stadiums now have a chance to go but again will complain and not go.

I can't see it getting 30k, Storm will bring no fans. Pricing is too expensive for the neutrals

We're going, we're all hoping both teams play the crap out of each other, and hopefully play in extra time then golden point, and puff out the following week when either the Bronx or Warriors give them a hiding.

30k max. Honestly what hope are they getting even that many. Their dominance is poor for the prospect of big crowds at big stadiums especially up against an out of town side. If this was Parra or Wests we’d be talking 60k and over. NRL needs to get active discounting seats.

Behind the posts and the Top should be really cheap, even 2 for 1 for other teams members Get some neutrals in

Broncos fans have been gouged again.

Sidelines at the Broncos game. $115-$140 vs $80-$95 for Penrith.

The NRL is clearly leveraging the Brisbane sell-out to cover a (possibly) small crowd at Accor. Solid business model in that regard, but merkin move.

This. When you’ve got a massive stadium priority should be filling it, not bleeding the diehards of maximum cash.
As I’ve mentioned elsewhere this is why Mt Smart has had sellouts all year, the club does cheap GA family deals for the end zone seats. Make it accessible and they’ll come.

They say Manly fans don't travel outside of Manly, let's see if Panfers fans do on Friday.

There will be plenty of Panthers fans to watch the people's team on Friday night.

Problem is you have 20-25k of them. You can fit the Storm fans in Sydney in a mini bus

As does Penrith. Not really rocket science
