So if we had every game practically sold out like other leagues do globally (NFL, EPL, etc.) we'd be on par as one of the top sports in the world based on average attendance? Wonder what the NRL can do further to increase crowd figures?

Take more games to Perth and take one game to Central Coast every week.

Play in stadiums which are easily accessible and are not old relics delivering a below average viewing experience would be one good idea. #IdeasMan

Currently about 12th in the world. NRLW looks like its the second best average attendance for womens sport in the world though

Sharks have been limited by construction, Panthers limited by ground size, but almost no other club is reaching max attendances at home.

Form, timeslots, weather all play apart as well.

Also have the Womens World Cup taking over the large stadiums.

A few games Broncos had at the Gabba get more at Suncorp

Ahh yes Manly v GC in Allianz on a cold wet Thursday night will lift the crowd average
Nice one mate. You obviously neglected one of the key words in my post which was “accessible”. Allianz is not suitably accessible for Manly fans is it?

So no, Allianz does not fit my solution for Manly v GC either.

Then there isn't a great deal you can do, Brookvale averaged 13k, short of moving their games they will sit around that mark

The only way they will exceed a 13000 average is if they have a good season with no Thursday night or Friday 6pm games. Same with Sharks.

Yep. Dogs improving as well as Dolphins and GC to continue to grow lifts the crowd. That is what you need. Dogs have 83,000 seats for home games. Get a couple of 30k games and lifts the average. Which allows for those shit timeslots

I have no doubt that besides the state the game is in atm and what a great spectacle it is to watch, the biggest contributor to the massively increased crowds this season has been our luck with the weather.
There were very few wet games in comparison to seasons past.
Kissed on the arse by mother nature we were.
Now, if only the NRL can get some of the scheduling right, we'd be in an even better position.

short term all Manly could do to lift their home average would be to move a couple of big games to Allianz

yes - just need to get improved stadiums and transport and we can really bump the average up
some ideas

- Canberra: New covered stadium in Civic area with capacity up to 30k
- Penrith - rebuild with an extra 2 - 5k seats
- Homebush - complete rebuild in rectangular mode. Finish construction of west metro line passing through and light rail. Build a new north - south metro line linking to other parts of Sydney
- Parramatta - stadium is ok - just improve transport with extensions to the west metro and parramatta light rail. could also add a new metro line running through Parra going say NW to SE
- Manly - Build a western grandstand with cover. Build a metro line to the region either running east-west from Chatswood area or north south from the city (or both)
- Saints - Play 6 games at SFS and 6 in Wollongong
- Tigers - Play 8 games at the rebuilt Homebush stadium and 4 at Campbelltown
- Newcastle - upgrade stadium with another 5k seats. Extend light rail to the stadium via Broadmeadows station. Build fast rail from Sydney to attract more visitors
- Gold Coast - extend gold coast light rail from the coast inland to Robina

We just need to change the focus of government transport policy on getting people to NRL games efficiently

Once the Light Rail opens next year, Parramatta will have probably the best transport links to any stadium in Sydney, with also the best game day options for food and beverage.

We need about 67 trillion dollars with that plan.
