Sunshine Coast needs a new stadium, if they got 1 similar to GC , I'd be up for them taking a couple of games there.

They could probably ditch Redcliffe next year if these crowds continue. Maybe keep 1 on Sunshine Coast - slightly bigger, different city & a stadium upgrade coming. Increase it to 2 when it gets an upgrade which will make it 16k/20k (temp seating) from memory.

The average for Manly vs Melbourne @ Brookvale is 11,922

Also I wonder what the elapsed game time was - maybe about 120 to 125 minutes?

It’s been an hour, so to update you, all games now sold out. Surprised it took the AFL so long to copy the NRL on this.

P.S. I don’t bring it up. Just correcting all the misinformation and BS on here, including this one…

They have sold around 230k tickets. Fair effort first time around. Magic Round 2019 was about 130k. Don’t make stuff up.
I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. If the ticket sales were as they had hoped, I dont think there would have been $15 adult and free U14 tickets, plus handouts that I know of.

Saddens me to say, but we cant doubt how good the AFL do with presenting positive spin and optics. Over the last week, there was lots of talk of moving the big games back to Melbourne because they would have gotten bigger crowds. No doubt the best way to shut that talk down was to produce 9 sellouts.

Are they all paid ticket sellouts? No.
Does having the appearance of 9 sellouts shut up the doubters? Yes.
Is it a great advertisement for their sport? Yes.
Does the AFL's ability to control the media narrative piss me off? Yes.
Am I jealous of this ability and wish NRL did it better? Absolutely.

Thanks, think my computer clock is wrong. So that's a 55 minute second half. How long was the first?
Game kicked off 8:01pm. Half time at 8:49pm. So a 48 minute half. Add the 55 minutes in the second and the total duration time of the game was 103 minutes.
