Now we might not ever get a men’s World Cup but this could conceivably be a trial run. If we don’t have much of an atmosphere for this it doesn’t help any argument for getting our hands on that which would be absolutely massive for the country (even most likely as a joint bid)

Boast to economy & tourism promotion would be great. Every stadium would sellout (women's event has moved a ton of tickets). TV ratings here last thing FIFA or state governments etc. think about

Oh yeah it is a trial run to get the men's event. And it will be interesting to see if Australia cares about the event if the Matildas bow out early. And what sort of ratings it gets overseas.

To a degree. Artists can conceivably be ignored or unpopular at the time or vice versa and their influence grow or reduce over time however.

Look at Melville, Monet, Van Gogh, Bach, Sylvia Plath, Emily Dickinson and a host of renowned female writers. A lot of these artists were completely ignored and only became renowned/popular after they died

Even in modern times look at something like the Velvet Underground. Their influence over music would be far greater than say Right Said Fred or the people who wrote the Macarena.

Every game should've been on FTA. Spread the games on the main and secondary channels. Optus wasn't needed.

And yet with the men's version late last year, every game was on SBS. Obviously Optus didn't want to run the risk of having technical difficulties like they experienced for the 2018 world cup. They couldn't cope with the high demand.

Just watching the 5 p.m. news on Nine with them leading the sport`s bulletin with fumbleball results and special reference to the midgets victory today and their recent (apparently) winning streak. League got a brief round-up after that. WTF is the matter with them.
