What with the cricket and Matilda’s I reckon people are over sport this year. Pretty ugly ratings.

The one game that would of had more casual viewers was moved to 4pm, In the worst timeslot no wonder it rated poorly. Hopefully NZ gives it a boost

The other interesting bit of this weekends ratings is that neither the swans nor lions rated over 90000 in Sydney or Brisbane on metro fta despite there being no Sydney nrl team playing on Friday or qld team playing on Saturday. The tsunami ain’t here yet.

Sunday rates really well for the NRL normally, figures should be interesting indeed.
Yet we have Friday/Sat week 2 & 3 finals. We used to have Sunday finals games until they reverted to the twilight GF, then when we went back to night, Fri/Sat finals remained. f**k 9

Nrl 25 percent higher

and people want the nrl to copy afl expansion

the question needs to be asked why fox are paying over 400 million for a second rate product

we should be getting 500 million pa on a like for like basis on subscription tv since game length is largely irrelevant

What's it all mean to the lay person mate? Some of the STV numbers for afl look ok though, like the Carlton game.
As best as I can tell, towards the end of the season when ratings dropped off post Matilda’s we averaged 396000 a game on fox/kayo and they averaged 303000.

Again AFL ratings are hard to get a read on. 2025 will tell the true story

Hasn’t been a good year for the bumblers especially on fox

I doubt fox will be happy paying so much for a second tier sport

we really need a cumulative total of afl and nrl ratings on fox

that will be an eye opener

For the NRL its 31% overall, but 20% on BVOD audiences - but minutes watched favours the AFL by 20% per game (ave 27.833m v 23.353m per game), as well as the AFL having a wider reach (10%).

Factor in the AFL having more broadcast partners for its Fox broadcasts than the NRL (and similar for Seven)

Minutes watched would largely be irrelevant on subscription tv I’d have thought

hence why I picked fox over fta

You have a Sat night game on FTA
Up against another game on Fox

It doesn't give a true reflection particularly of sub numbers
