I’m not sure a bunch of amateurs here should be telling the Wookie how to do his job. He reports Australian TV ratings. Not NZ.

Itll get updated at some point in my tables and when the consolidated figures are in. If for nothing else than future reference.

We moved the minor premiers to an awful timeslot for NZ TV. How it rated over there is important to see if it justified the move.

1.6m people watching total, does that. As opposed to 900k

The fact nz ratings aren’t included in our totals is ridiculous even if it’s an estimate

we are comparing 16 nrl clubs to 18 and still smashing them
Once Wookie adds 700k and ten million people in PNG the numbers would be staggering.

And you probably dont know but im spreading the news about Rugby League to so many Turkish people in Turkey,it all started when I told my cousins about it, and he told all his friends and they're all hooked on it now. They keep on asking me whens the next Origin game lol.

Also another lady friend from Canada who also is hooked on it. She tells me she's never seen such a brutal sport as Rugby League. That four people can actually hit you that hard, and still gets up haha i love her...

Fine by me. It’s the insistence by some here on telling Wookie how to do his stats that annoys me. The bloke is doing an outstanding job without others coming in sideways offering piecemeal advice and instructions

I've never ever said Wookie is doing a bad job, actually he's doing a fantastic one,and i love all his stat's.

It's just that, we just haven't added overseas audiences to our game as of yet. And once we add them. God almighty it would be massive.

There’s always been an issue with counting rugby league ratings properly

years ago regional viewers weren’t included and it seemed like afl was so far ahead of us and their national comp was working

then Telstra digital had the free app and media sources were saying nrl ratings were down because we didn’t know how many people were watching on the app

then a few years back kayo numbers came out (kayo took the place of Telstra digital when the nrl closed the app) and the situation was revealed that nrl was far and away ahead of afl

despite reports our ratings were down they were up a lot

the message has gotten out now that every year we come first now by a long way

but again it’s not including New Zealand. It doesn’t suit the afl narrative to include nz because obviously they don’t have a team there

when png get a team they would add 500k to a million extra viewers (they might not be rich but they are fans nonetheless)

Afl has maxed out where it can expand too and grow ratings. Ratings in nsw and qld have fallen. Two teams in each market struggle to get what one team got 10 plus years ago

with a 20 team comp we would be beating afl by 50 percent more viewers than them maybe more

expansion will take the game to a whole new level

afl has great crowds but in terms of tv ratings it’s not in the same ballpark as rugby league

is there a source for 10m in PNG? SkyNZ have at least provided the primary source for the 700k.

Ill take any legit data I can get my hands on.
During the 2000 Rugby League World Cup an estimated audience of over 2 million watched the Kumuls lose to the Welsh Dragons in the quarter finals in the early hours of the morning local time.

Can you imagine how many watch Origin? Would be mind blowing.

I think we both know 10 million is at best a fantasy. That is the total population of the country
