with the wahs finals ratings I suspect we will beat the fumblers

we probably came close to a million last night and the prelim final will have a similar boost

this shows why the rugby league footprint is superior to afl

afl tv ratings in nz would be beaten by replays of I love Lucy

The only issue I have with the numbers put out by SkyNZ last week is theres no indication of what the numbers represent - whether its average, peak or reach - and it matters.

Honestly, 9 are too stupid for their own good. Playing the Knights-Warriors at a 6:50pm kickoff would've gotten more viewers than A Current Affair and their other post news programming. They pretty much just handed the night to 7. Even an 8:50pm kickoff in New Zealand would still have sold out and the game would have finished there at 10:30ish which is fine on a Saturday.

And now next week the Broncos-Warriors game starts at 7:50pm so an 11:30-ish finish in New Zealand. That will hurt the ratings. Fumbleball will also be finishing up just as the game kicks off, so casual sports fans in Brisbane will be more likely to watch live action fumbling than pre-game NRL waffle. Again a 6:50pm kickoff forces people to choose whether to watch NRL or fumbles in Brisbane. The NRL is effectively giving the fumbles a free kick.

Basically going forward - any finals game involving the Warriors should be aiming for a kickoff in that 6pm to 6:50pm EST zone.

Fumblers moved their game to 5 o’clock to avoid a clash with the broncos

hahaha cowards

Yeah coz they know they'll get owned.

Its more that theyve had a twilight prelim for a while to enable teams to get back home the same day to begin recovery ahead of the grand final

2022: Swans/Pies 4.45pm Saturday
2019: Pies/GWS 4.35pm Saturday
2018: Eagles/Demons 1.20pm (WA time) Saturday
2017: Tigers/GWS 4.45 Saturday
2016: Giants/Bulldogs 5.15 Saturday
