Semifinal like ratings , seems like every week we are having 2 x million+ ratings. NRL should be negotiating 18th team next year while it is hot and open up tenders in 2025 for the next rights

Is 2 years after Dolphins too soon for a new team? 3 years probably is more realistic but you are right it should be paired with going to tender for TV

It`s a good question, you wouldn`t want to encroach on the euphoria surrounding the Dolphins entry too soon. Especially now they are starting to attract marquee players like Farnworth and Flegler, and god knows who else may come on board now that everyone knows they are the real deal.
Might be best to give it a few years to see them develop into a real powerhouse to match the Bronx for star players.
No, I think really you`d almost have to give it 5 yrs min. ten would probably be ideal, but I know that`s asking a lot. But we want to stretch these things out to maximise its` impact.

Depends if you are going for a completely new franchise (like the Storm) or basing it off a strong existing team (like Redcliffe). If its the former you need more time for the team to get its structures and infrastucture in place.

2025 sounds about right.

Just going by the areas mentioned, They are rightfully not in RL areas. The downside is you are building a club from the ground up.

2026
2029
2032

still gets the 3 in the time frame but allows the needed time

Lets say Perth is the next team, You need to give them a year or so to get junior systems into place. Before setting up the Senior team

Total upgrade cost hasnt really been announced, only that the Victorian Government will fund 225m for it.

Not a surprise with the cost of construction.

Though it makes it more likely that the $550m mark for the FTA/Fox share is correct, in that case the 9th game in NRL gets the deals closer.

Probably on par when you take into consideration the advertisement revenue gap between the 2

I think a decision should be made in early 24 for entry in 2026 and then they are selling the 9th game into existing contract for 2 seasons and hopefully a massive contract for the next deal
