We’re not getting $400mill cash in 2023.Again though NRL deal would be the same. $400m cash in 2023 would be just under $500m in 2031.
Although NRL will have talks before then for 2028 at the latest. The margin will be small and in which case the NRL deal isn't that bad afterall
ill take the word of the afl over the afr, but believe what you want. Already showed you where the afr got it wrong re afl covid reduction.AFR said $400m cash, I believe them over you
There’s already a North’s & Souths in the qldcomp.Dolphins should be good for at least 50 million pa rights increase next time around
indeed I suspect the clamour will be for another brisbane team when the ratings are clear
dolphins are clearly now a north brisbane team and that’s the name they should choose
ipswich can be south brisbane or south qld
A potato article by a potato with no knowledge of the broader ratings environment. Is Maurice still a thing?
AFL RATINGS SINK BOOT INTO CHANNEL 9
It’s not hard to understand why Channel 7 is paying more for AFL than Channel 9 is for NRL in the TV broadcast deals.
Last weekend’s figures show a huge AFL audience dominance on free-to-air.
Seven’s AFL coverage averaged 644k nationally, 486k metro. Nine’s NRL averaged 494k nationally, 301k metro.
Seven also had 39 per cent more audience than Nine across Thursday and Friday night telecasts. No wonder Nine made a sneaky bid for the AFL broadcast rights last year.
IMO, this has more to do with the effort 7 put into the fumblers vs Nein taking RL for granted as a cash cow.
Dolphins vs Broncos got 382,000 on Foxtel on Fri night and the corresponding AFL game got 237,000. That's a 145k difference. The Thursday night game on NRL also got 50k more on Fox than the Thurs night AFL game.

Anyone think he'll write an article about how NRL is getting less money from Foxtel despite rating higher?

Foxtel should pay nrl at least 100 million more pa than aflLots of articles coming out atm , about how the NRL is reaming the silly little fumbling game on TV
we just now need them to start questioning why foxtel paid what they did for it & more importantly what they
Should ...
be paying for the NRL
no more excuses for Rupert's mob , pay up or eff off , we will take our 1 million subscribers with us.
We need to start courting Ch 10 & Paramount now to create the bidding tension required to get what we deserve.
we wouldnt want them catching a coldFoxtel should pay nrl at least 100 million more pa than afl
fumblers and gillon are claiming foxtel pays the afl 490 million pa (I think it’s cap)
this would mean the nrl rights should go up from around 270 million now to 600 million
even if we admit the afl is lieing about their tv deal let’s say foxtel pay them 300 million then we should get 400 million pa which is a rise of 130 million pa just from foxtel
Something for everyone in the last tweet
