Ideally we will have a Sat night on FTA and the extra game on an early Sunday evening. Someone winning the rights that isnt competing with itself like 10/Paramount or 9/Stan would make that more likely than Fox holding on to them.
Zero chance

ending fox exclusive super Saturday is a great way to annoy foxtel

you know like David smith did

potential is Monday night football is shared between fox and nein

Like I said more likely if Fox lose the rights to a FTA/Streamer single organisation. Then super Saturday is largely irrelevant.
Smith got $185mill for 4 games to FTA (leaving aside the stupidity of allowing them to on-sell it). $55mill more than the current FTA deal 10 years later. Is Fox paying us more than $55mill for that Saturday exclusivity? Who knows.

If we're split between an FTA provider & foxtel , I can't see FTA outbidding foxtel & breaking its exclusivity on Saturdays
If we go 9/Stan or Paramount /10 then yeah , we will get a 4th FTA game

Ten/Paramount haven't been successful with their AFL and cricket bids. Maybe for the NRL rights, there could be a change of strategy from Ten where they could go into partnership with Fox and leave Nine on their own.

Ten will go with Fox on the basis that they want four FTA games, Thursday night, Friday night and Sunday double header, eg 3pm and 6:30pm. Worth noting Ten have their news at 5pm.

The thing is Fox needs a FTA partner.

TBF if you break down most sports its pretty dumb use of your time lol. Golf on Tv is the one that baffles me. But yeh cricket for me is a close second. Got to admire the commitment of viewers for both though lol

It`s a game, well certainly the long form at least, that you`ve got to grow up with.
It`s interesting to note that cricket has a hard time engaging aboriginal kids, they think exactly the same thing as you. Boring as watching grass grow, which is what you do a lot of when playing cricket.

OMG-golf another one. 😴
My boss loves it and is glued to TV set, and I tell him what's the attraction in this? He says the hole in one.
I say enjoy it to him, coz that's the closest you'll ever get to a hole.🤣

"Golf : a good walk spoiled." Mark Twain.
My favourite : "Golf: the death of hope" Woody Allen. Not so much fun quoting him any more.

So, if I`m correct NRL is up an average of 91 000 viewers per match based on last year`s whole season average of 620 000(2022) to 711 000 2023 ytd. A 15% increase.
Fumleball up an average 18 000 viewers per match to 555 000 from 537 000 av. viewers per match 2022. A 3.2% increase.

A lot more fat in the NRL numbers heading into the second part of the season when many teams fall by the wayside and their fans switch off.

Mate that`s a bullshit answer that bloke gave you. The cross over between winter sports esp. League and cricket would be minimal. I know blokes who prefer to play Touch football in the off-season than boring f**king cricket.
Cricket would be dead if it weren`t for the new short forms and even with them we`ll see how long the novelty lasts. They may well go the same way as 50 over, which is dead now as well.
BTW. you don`t need to be fit to play cricket.

I was going to say to him, if that was the case than how many cricket players play League in the winter? Absolutely zero.
Maybe this happened in 1920 donkeys ago
