2024-25 Off Season Incidents

Even if Mam is sacked and deregistered, this could have still ended far worse.

That said, how come when a player f**ks up these days the spin doctors come out to try and make them a victim. If he had made a statement taking ownership and checked himself into rehab then he may have maintained a molecule of respect from the fans.

screenshot of a story from the courier mail

it was racism that forced Mam to cope by getting on the nose beers

link here although behind a paywall

Is Mam or his entourage claiming that though? Or just media speculating that it's related?

If it's media they need to stfu with the race card as that is Ezra's card to play should he choose to. If he was to choose to play that card, then he deserves whatever fallout that brings. People get on the nose beers because they like it, not as a coping mechanism from a brown dude calling a black dude a bad name.

To be fair to Mam there is no quote from him or anyone else in the article

it’s authors ( Brett Read, Peter Bedal, Michael Carayannis and Travis Meyn ) detail some events from the GF through to the crash, mention that “ the incident in Las Vegas may have cost him more than he realised ) and from there we get the headline Racism saga sparked fall from grace.

CTP will cover injuries etc, but that doesn't cover property. If it's proven he was under the influence of drugs and or unlicensed it's very unlikely that the insurance cover on the car will indemnify him. Hopefully the Uber was comprehensively insured, so old mate is sorted out. Then his insurer will go after Ezra.

That's the "trick" is if the Uber was insured. I've heard stories of Uber drivers not being insured which has resulted in some rather depressing outcomes for injured people. Legal terms make it that Uber itself cannot be held accountable for actions of its drivers (though that hasn't been tested in court admittedly).

(Typo, my bad)

Drivers aren't employees, so Uber has no liability.

If their cars are registered they have CTP which covers injury. If they are unregistered ( Highly unlikely) then assuming the injured party was in a registered vehicle their CTP should have a clause that covers them in the case of the AF party not having coverage. Property damage is a different thing entirely.

Anything Brent Read writes you can pretty much guarantee is rubber stamped by the Broncos.

Obviously coming from his manager or someone close to him

His manager told the media he was in rehab facility

All so if he pleads guilty he doesn’t get a criminal record against himself or worse

Peter Badel & Travis Meyn are the Broncos mouthpieces/ Courier Mail Broncos.

They are trying to control the PR message.

I am surprised it took this long for the Spencer incident to get a mention.

This is the same scum of a club that got Matt Lodge back through the door after New York.
