If they rebuilt the western grand stand it doesn’t have to be the same height as the other stands

no point rebuilding a whole stand for only 10k extra capacity

WTF?
A re-build of just one stand for an extra 10 k capacity is exactly what Suncorp needs.

It doesn't, but making it higher means the roof has to be rebuilt which then has impacts around all of level 7. Western Grandstand also has a lot of corporate & broadcast facilities which will need to be included in any new design which limits how many people you can fit in there (unless you go significantly higher, which again has other issues)

Just leave suncorp as is ..

It's.the only bankable stadium in the nrl .. don't f**k with it

Aggregate after 4 games is 85,030 (21,258 average)

Most encouraging thing is remaining 3 games could draw 70K+ between them.

70k would be great and easily utilised by origin and magic plus the brisbane derbies.

But I fear a regular crowd of 20 to 30k for the dolphins and even the odd broncos game (weather, form, timeslot affected) would look lost in there.
At that size it is almost an accor like stadium.

An extra 10k capacity is good for the short to medium term and will allow a certain bit of scarcity and fomo where clubs can keep ticket prices at a level to make good money.
The size of Brisbane now and with the potential of another NRL team in 10 years or so, plus Reds and Roar, we need a 70k Suncorp PLUS a new 30 stadium to cater for different events.

Suncorp for all Broncos games, Dolphins QLD derbies, Jets QLD derbies, State of Origin, Magic Round, soccer and union internationals

New 30k stadium for all other Dolphins games, Reds, Roar, international RL, international union once it declines even further - lol, Women's Origin

Taking the @SLRBRONCOS approach to markups (and because it's a long weekend and I already miss doing PowerPoints), here's the state of play at Accor with 1.5 days to go.

- Everything in black is either sold out or down to single seats.
- Everything in yellow is down to limited availability (<3 tickets per booking)
- Everything else is available without restriction

The weather has improved considerably in Sydney over the course of the weekend and the forecast looks beaut for tomorrow.

Between now and game time, Level 6 East is worth keeping an eye on. If any bays go on sale there, we will be tracking for a 45,000-50,000 crowd. The most recent example of this logic is the 2022 Preliminary Final between the Panthers and South Sydney (which Accor opened up Level 6 East for, and the crowd was 50,035).

But at this stage, all indications are for a crowd in the 40,000-45,000 range. The Parramatta fans really need to turn out to push for more I think.

Ticket sales for Origin 2 in Melbourne seem to be surging. Only really the last 10 or so rows available in some of the sections in the upper tier.

MCC members will be responsible for how far this crowd goes into the late 80s and early 90s, but based on the current presales an enormous crowd is going to happen.

Unless there are a huge amount of seats that haven't been put on sale.
