Past the 100,000 mark for the round.

105,299 after 5 games. Only need 34,701 from the last 2 games to get the 20K average.

Crazy enough 160,000 is with reach with the combined crowds for Panthers & Bulldogs needing to be a realistic 54,701.

yeah 43k in '93
Guessing the new stadium and more availability made it a novelty at first till fans got sick of the poor facilities
Seems like they are getting back to that figure in a smaller but better stadium

The atmosphere was insane when there were huge crowds, which there quite often were before 95. But as the SL war settled in, the crowds dropped so did the atmosphere and the spiral continued until we got back to a renovated Lang Park in 2003

Gee Melbourne have done well to build their fan base. This sort of game in the past would have done well to crack 15k
Good scheduling probably helping a bit too. This game was in the mid-arvo before an MCG game later tonight. Plenty of club colours for that game seen at AAMI

Highest 7 game round aggregate is 161713.

Only two rounds with 7 games have exceeded 150k.

If we get 160k this round that will be equal to the total of 160k+ rounds for 2023.

Scheduling no doubt is helpful, but there’s no doubt that our supporter base has ballooned.

I used to dream of regular 20k crowds
Prior to today the Storm's largest crowd against the Knights at AAMI Park had been 16,313 in 2019 and the average had been around 12K.

The Knights haven't been a high drawing team in Melbourne really ever and the fact it was a bit of a nothing fixture in the middle of June (by nothing I mean, no special event, not playing top of the ladder opponent nor the match having a major impact on Finals) and yet it still got over 20K.

It's great signs for the club and what they've built.

With the death of Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby I could see an additional boost develop for the Storm and Rugby League in Victoria.

The Storm and the NRL Victoria should seriously make a play at juniors and Rebel members.

There has been a fairly strong development of Union at a junior level which NRL Victoria should try to target.

One or two local Clubs have previously tried Union and League (Mooronbah Rams), they switched to only Union, now to get them to only League.

I can see 25 thousand average coming for the Storm in the next season or two.

Pleasantly surprised by the Gold Coast crowds still holding up despite the titans being absolute gash.

their fans deserve better.

Do you watch their games? Their last four outings leading into the Souths game have seen wins against the Broncos & Cowboys and narrow losses to the Storm and Newcastle.

Oh and don't be fooled by AFL house, the Gold Coast is RL heartland and it's not even close, that's why the crowds hold up.
