How is that arrogant? You need to calm down. If you’re not capable of discussing your view points on here without becoming all offensive, why post?

Take a chill pill.

Read your reply above, Just because we don't agree makes the discussion not sensible?

Rookie forwards can be awestruck in the 1st half a dozen matches they play in FG. Some talk about just doing enough to survive out there.
If Smith and Henry are both off the bench there is no reason their stints can't be staggered in the early rounds, as players build up fitness, and Henry gets used to the pace of FG.

Leota usually comes off first around 20 minutes. Smith can then come on. When Fish comes off 5-10 mins later Sorro playing edge could shift to prop and Garner comes on.
Then Leota could come back on after HT with Henry for a stint etc. There are plenty of scenarios the club can take.
There is a reason why we didn't replace Spencer externally. I am sure Henry will be up to it in his own way.

If Sorensen is playing prop. Is there a need to play a 3rd on the bench?

I think we will see different benchs across the year

You guys really over think this stuff.

In my opinion, we have the best starting middle in the world. You don’t bust that up.

Our young blokes will do what ever Ivan needs them too.

It’s exciting times.

Because unless we are adding offloading from the young guys - which we aren't

Then our basic game plan will be the same.

Big backs to start the sets.
Forward pack getting into the wrestle until we wear them down and win.

our squad is built with a stack of rookies so we need to use the senior guys as best as we can

You're the prick being passive aggressive. Everyone else was just discussing the makeup of the side.
Is disagreeing with you being passive aggressive? If you were able to suggest a good reason for not starting the best front row combination in the world, I’d agree with you, But I haven’t seen you suggest one yet…

According to you. You are never wrong though

I don’t think we need to change our game plan.

Our team will evolve as our players spend longer in the team and improve.

Minor changes here and there, sure, but we don’t need to do much. I don’t think.

I’m never wrong?? Look at what we are talking about here.

Mose and Fish have won three premierships in a row, no one has been able to get the best of them.

They went out and dominated Australia as well.

Seriously…… this isn’t ground breaking stuff.

The discussion is fine.

Some of the posts with in it don’t make much sense to me.

Maybe I’m wrong and Ivan will bench one of the two best starting middles in the world.

There seems to be a push from most of the posters here to bench moses, over fish, rarely viceversa..
I'm in your camp, unless these guys are injured, you shouldn't change it... its like messing with the batsmen order.. if everyone is so worried about Lindsay Smith and Liam Henry having to replace these stalwarts of our squad, together at the same time, ivan can just stagger it, whilst keeping fish on for longer, or move either sorrenson, kenny or martin to the middle for 10 mins, it all depends on who can cover any of those 3 guys really

Moses seems better suited to play to that role, If Garner is starting backrower we don't have an issue.

Him going on for Martin/Sorro

While Henry and Smith are on would be carnage especially if Kenny is playing lock at the same time.

He may not but

I can't see him running with a bench of

Garner
Smith
Henry.

We saw this year bench change from week to week, That will probably keep going

Then you don't pick Henry and Smith in the side at the same time, go with Lauire, Smith, Eiso, Garner
Or Lauire, Henry, Eiso, Garner

Eiso can fill in for Yeo who can do middles, Garner can fillin for Martin or Sorro to fill in the middle, and Lauire could do a stint for kenny who can do middles, thats coverage, if we have peach at 18th man, even more coverage

The way HIAs are these days, Ivan will keep a bench that has as many possibilities as can be, rather than the standard 2 props, hooker and utility that most clubs run with

Garner and Martin would be my backrow and go from there.

There might be games an extra middle is needed. Early on with Luai's injury. I'd carry a half atleast

Lauire for Luai surely, unless Luai isn't playing at all, then its Schneider for mine.. Lauire still at 14
Still i don't think having Garner start makes sense, he has more value coming off the bench than starting, Martin off the bench is a weapon, we should be thinking of that too... his stints mid season after he returned from injury just ruined opposition

Yeah but Hosking going left us short an NRL ready backrower.

Martin works too, That is the sort of bench player we should look to develop. I am happy to make mistakes as a result of mixing it up

I expect Eiso to start the year off and transition into Henry

Garner and Smith are the only two lock ins for me.

The 14 could go 3 or 4 different ways, I suspect it will depend on how he plans on using Kenny.

I am yet to be convinced Garner is a starting backrower here. He was better the last few games off the bench and filling in at centre. Thats it.
