2024 Rabbitohs Injuries and Suspensions

Late reaction to this news as I've been busy but yet again, what a f**king show of incompetency from our club. What were they thinking? Firstly, they should have fought the one gainst the Tigers, not this one. There was no way they were going to get a downgrade on this one and we've just cost him three games instead of two. Ridiculous!!

Hopefully we can get Kangaroos games to count but it's still BS!

Brain dead club callmack im glad we are no longer members.

Aaaand another f**king calf injury last night! For f**k sake these claf injuries are beyond ridiculous now surely.

This time, it's Jack Wighton as he failed to finish the game last night. Hornby said in his presser that the way our Season has gone, he probably won't be available next week.

Ughhhhhhhhh I would like to scream.

Don't scream callmack just ask the rorters can you borrow a dozen international players for next week. they have 20 plus internationals in their 30 man squad.the nrl and the rorters are one big corrupt scam that's why the corrupt nrl will let the rorters win the 2024 grand final pull me up if I'm wrong..

Very happy we're gonna try prove he's fit and have him suspended for this week instead of Round 1 next year, that'd be a decent result out of a shitty situation.

But I still can't believe this 'suspension starts when he's fit' BS. When has that ever been a rule in the history of the game? This is the first time. Different rules for us and Trell apparently. They'd better be consistent with this moving forward.

"According to The Herald and News Corp, the NRL have rejected the Rabbitohs application for Mitchell to serve his suspension in the club's final match of the season against the Sydney Roosters on Friday evening.

This means that he is set to be ruled out of Round 1 of the 2025 NRL season - the first game of Wayne Bennett's second tenure at the club."

So, it looks like there's one rule for the Rabbitohs and Latrell and there's another for the rest of the NRL. They're effectively turning it into a 2 game suspension since they are rejecting the medical advice that says he is fit and available to play. Why not just make it a 2 or 3 or 10 game suspension in the first place instead of putting new conditions on him by making up shit on the run?

What an amateur hour joke the NRL have shown themselves to be yet again.

I'm disgusted.

Hi speedster I'm disgusted in trellmyth ( the problem child) he is why souths are in this situation, getting back to the nrl i dont like the nrl becoz the game itself has gone down the drain especially with today's rules since taking over after super league.. (bring back the ARL when rugby league was played like rugby league) today's game is a mere shadow of our once great game when we all understood the game the game collapsed since the nrl raised its ugly head!!! Not many fans understand what the f's is going on i don't and I've followed the game since 1960.

I feel like we area still making excuses for Trelmyth. I think this is more embarrassing for the club than the NRL.
The NRL should of just give him 3 games to start with so they would of then known he would miss the 1st game next year.
No one's making excuses for Latrell. He did the wrong thing and deserves his punishment. BUT, the way the NRL have pulled some new ruling out of their arses about players needing to be fit and available to serve a suspension is truly BS. Players have previously been suspended and injured at the same time and no one has ever raised it as an issue until it's Latrell and South Sydney.

It has never in the history of the game occurred previously and now they're apparently considering going against specialist medical advice just to ensure he misses the start of next season which punishes the supporters who have had a wretched season and have hopes of an improved start to a new era in 2025.

These pricks just want to see Souths stay down trodden it seems. I guess they'll draw us against a top 4 side to start the year too once they guarantee our best player is missing. Is that what's really happening here because it appears a clear case of making up new rules on the fly for Souths players.

We all need to take our red and green glasses off. It’s a shit look for the club. We are a laughing stock.
The guy hasn’t even been training.
We are supporting his behaviour by trying to get him back a game earlier.
Let him know he has once again let the team down, let the supporters down, let Wayne down
Just accept it

Bullshit. He's being punished with hefty fines and a suspension but they're trying to double his suspension after the fact by making up new rules from out of the blue. If they want to apply a new rule, they need to do it from the start of a new season that applies to everyone equally and not suddenly out of convenience against one player and one club.

He did the wrong thing and needs to learn but he hasn't committed a capital crime and the obsessive pile on by some people who just can't stop carrying on and on as though he's a child molester or something is nauseating.

It's been dealt with poorly by the NRL but we all need to move on.

Just accept it.

There's plenty of bad blood between Abdo and Solly and that's what's really going on here from all reports. How unprofessional is it of the governing body's top man to allow personal feelings and vendettas to affect how he does his job? It has for a long time felt like the NRL has been taking the long handle to Souths at every opportunity and this just reeks of more harsh treatment coming our way because Abdo can't keep his personal feelings in check.

Apparently they're sending an independent trainer to check on Latrell's training loads for the past 2 weeks before applying their rejection of Souths medical evidence that says he is fit and available this week.

If we were a chance of making the finals, he'd be playing this week despite being underdone (and he probably wouldn't have been slacking off in that hotel room either if we were still in the hunt). But now they want to say he has to be in tip top shape to prove his fitness as though a player has never played short of a gallop before in the history of the game (Latrell himself has as has GI and others from memory) and it will somehow prove Souths are lying despite the medical advice to the contrary.

Stinks to high heaven to be fair.

I’m sure if it was Radley or JWH or Munster or the cheese you would have the opposite opinion
