Just not the done thing these days post Kolkata. Doubt they even considered it.

It's even less done now than a few years post Kolkata tbh. Modern captains in general seem to hate enforcing the follow on

Not only have we wasted this session, with the most movement of the whole test, we've lost momentum. 3 down now, England will be way happier than they deserve to be

Not enforcing the follow on has potentially brought England back into the series. Handscomb will struggle against the moving ball.

It's not even rolling the dice. New ball in the night session = movement. It's the highest percentage play but no merkin likes to enforce the follow on for some reason
