Harris in for Johnson is the only change imo.

I swear if Clarke is not fit, he better have the balls to rule himself out!

You're right, as discussed earlier these guys would give their left nut to be in the ashes.. So maybe a little selfish if he isn’t fit...

I reckon we need Harris and Bollinger to play so I do wonder whether the selectors have the balls to make 2 changes.

Im not sure what the point is bringing both of them into camp if they only ever really wanted to pick one. Then again its our dumb arse selectors we are talking about here and they probably wont make any changes at all

I think Clarke will be ok, They went to the trouble of announcing a shadow player for him (Khawaja) prior the 1st test. No announcements yet. Then again our dumb arse selectors probably didnt like that kind of focus on Clarke because of that shadow player so wont name one and announce to the world he is 110%

Having said that I dont think Clarke is 100%. He usually gets a few overs when we need a wicket. 1/517 and not to get an over suggests he isnt 100%

I think Clarke will play he was moving pretty well in the field in the 2nd innings I thought. He was diving about and running normal. Trouble for the selectors is Siddle is sh*t but he is the only bloke who really deserves to be in the team for the 2nd test on form from the 1st test.

I don't understand why Johnson would be in the squad if he's not going to play... even in a NZ team, a performance like that would see you back in domestic cricket immediately...

so, hard to understand your selectors... what can he prove in training sessions? I'll believe it when I see his name not the XI

Bollinger in for Johnson, and Harris in for either Doherty or Hilf I reckon. Dougy has to play, very good player and will give u guys more impact.

Maybe Notch will be picked because of his invaluable advice to other bowlers before they commence their over

http://www.espncricinfo.com/the-ashes-2010-11/content/current/story/489751.html

"He didn't have his best game, but 11 wickets in the Test match for both groups says it's hard work to me," Nielsen said, shortly after the team's arrival in Adelaide. "He didn't bowl as well as he would have liked, and that's our job over the next couple of days to make sure we get him back up and going. At different times there have been a lot of players who haven't performed in one Test match and then have come out and upped the ante. That's the challenge of a five-day Test.

"We all identify that he didn't have the best game. But there were times when we let it get away - not as an individual but as a bowling group - and when that happens, one guy usually gets exposed, and Mitch is the one we're talking about. Throughout his career, he's had his ups and downs but there's not an international who hasn't gone the long-term without ups and downs. Mitch is no different. But we need to address that tomorrow morning, and find way a way to attack the English team and take 20 wickets."

There's a couple of little things we can work on, we can make sure we jump around the bowling group and each other, and make sure he's in as good a place as he can be. He's taken 160 Test wickets so he's good at this game.

Sounds a bit like Notch is in the XI for adelaide according to the coach

Are we seriously surprised..whats to bet Hilfy gets dropped.

That would only be a surprise if Johnson wasn't dropped too... Hilfenhaus was hardly searching...

But Johnson was just appalling... and the thing about test cricket is if you have a bad spell, or even a bad innings, you have chances to fix it... Johnson showed nothing with the ball... obviously there's a chance he'll find some form at some stage, but unless you are a great usually domestic cricket is the place for that... as has been discussed, his batting has been mentioned as a plus... but that seems historical too, in recent times his batting has been more Chris Martin than Chris Cairns

They seem to be all tarred with the same brush, they consistently refer the players past records and not their current form.

Even Punter admitted he wanted Siddle in the team because of his form in RSA from 2 years ago, despite having no current form.

It just shows a complete lack of intelligence and inability to read a players current form.

We are no longer No 1 in the world but without these muppets running the asylum we could be rated considerably higher than 5 because I believe we have the players in the country to get us there, they just dont get picked.

I think Australian cricket needs a complete overhaul

It HAS to start if we lose this ashes series (some ole same ole if we win it though)

We need a new captain, a few fresh group of players (Khawaja, Okeefe, Harris for starters), and a selection policy that takes into form and the right to wear the baggy green, rather than just passing it on to "yes captain ill give you a blowjob anytime you want" mates. Piss of the coach and get some selectors with balls would help greatly as well

If the poms are on song in this test (Adelaide), and we are our usually bumbling self, they go 1-0 up, then im not too sure we will have the ability to then win 2 tests and draw another to win back the ashes, just seems a tall order for this side

they couldn't get Johnson in a place where he could contribute any more than any club cricketer would for the first test, what are they going to do differently this time?
