Has australia ever conceeded a bigger drubbing than this?

The scoreline is going to finish roughly England 5/620 vs Australia 20/550

We lost pretty badly in a dead rubber to England back in 2002/2003, but we'd already won the first 4 tests.

You have to go way back to 1986-1987 for the last time England were punishing us on our home turf like this.

Poms Far to good, Strauss what a genius for taking the new ball :sarcasm:

Time for change in Australian cricket, it has to happen sooner rather than later.

Poms have been far too good. They didn't make the same mistakes as the last time they came here thinking that winning at home made them a better side than they were. This time they left nothing to chance, picked the best side they could - notice how they didn't worry about any rubbish about having an all rounder to replace Freddie, just picked their best 4 bowlers and their best 6 bats. Then they prepared with 100% focus on winning. No joking about in the warm up games (and played genuine first class games to warm, and played to win). It has been a demonstration of how to do it and the shame is that all they are doing is what we used to do to them.

We need a clean out and no two ways about it, but no doubt our selectors will be going to Perth looking jag a win and keep the series alive.

Perth:

Hughes
Watson
Ponting
Khawaja
Clarke
Hussey
Haddin
O'Keefe
Harris
Hilfenhaus
Bollinger

I would have almost identical team
I would bring Copeland in for Siddle

But ...

I have a bad feeling the selectors/Ponting/Nielsen will resist major changes. Maybe North will go, and if he is dropped the selectors will have to go against Ponting's wishes. But other than that I could see Hauritz and Johnson coming in ... two players part of the problem to begin with.

never seen an australian tail this bad.

Can Harris actually bat. Everyone sais he can and stats are not woefull but he just looks very very average. Even the first dig where he was lbw he just stood there with no foot movement. And Doherts, and i no hes not on the team for batting. but hes just missed a straight one.

Yeah, i don't know why they keep persisting with the older players when we are still losing. It would be different if we were winning games.

North, Katich, Doherty, Harris, Bollinger Gone
Followed by Ricky, Haddin and Hussey eventually

For the ashes in england i'd like to see:

1. Hughes
2. Marsh
3. Khawaja
4. Watson
5. Clarke
6. Ferguson
7. Paine
8. Smith
9. Johnson
10. Siddle
11. Copeland

Clarke and watto would be the oldest.

So you would drop very well performing players like Katich, Haddin and to a lesser extent Hussey just because they are old?

Anyone know the last innings defeat at home for Australia?

West Indies
1993
Perth
Unlike this test, no disgrace

That was the test Ambrose got 7/25 in the 1st innings

Australia all out for 119 in the first innings after being one stage 2/85

lol @ Australia.

England should just bowl bouncers and try and hit Siddle & Bollinger. Break a few ribs, and just physically damage the merkins.
