If keep's performing well for The Blue's, maybe he might get another look in, but I'd prefer him to be getting wickets consistently before he get's another shot.

He has got better figures than Doherty has this season:lol:

if the reports are correct i could deal with bolly harris and siddle

but to me that leaves two first change bowlers.

hilfy seems to bowl without luck but i still think a lineup of hilfy & bolly opening with harris at first change gives us the best chance

i think o keefe is a better bowler than x. but we picked him so he should at least get the series to show what hes got.

if its not going well than bringing o keefe in stregthens the batting, especially if we play smith at 6. 2 spinning options

i could handle mostly 50 plus batting averages down to number 8

Harris is fine with the new pill.

Most here were praying for Hilf, Doug and Harris prior to the Gabba. Siddle did enough in his chance to hang on so Doug and Harris to open up with Siddle and Watson to bowl the change suits me just fine for Adelaide. The important thing is to get our two best new ball bowlers in the side and get Notch the hell away from the side.

Harris and Bollinger are new ball bowlers. Better lineup. Then Siddle and Watson are your change bowlers. Clarke/Doherty can bowl the left arm pies.

Foxsports are saying the Rug in for Notch.

Wouldn't mind seeing Harris in there atm as his form is better than Hilfy's.

No doubt Mr Huff and Puff did enough to be retained.

Whatever our attack, if we bowl first we need to get it extremely right in the 1st session (omitting Notch is a great start). It would be a dream to bowl out the poms for 260 again, though I cant see that happeining in Adelaide

If we bat first hopefully we can post 600 plus

Hope our catching improves too

Hilfenhaus looks a bit like a faster version of Kyle Mills (as a test bowler)... pretty lame once the shine's off the ball...

Draw, I suspect...

I agree. Although I think the total we score should be based on the pitch not on a number. Having said that we are pretty crap at the moment. We need at least 600. :D Can't see us bowling them out for anything less than 350. They are too good a side for that to happen and our bowlers lack penetration anyway. Rug's a good start but we probably need one more - either a talented youngster such as Copeland or George or a guy like Harris. I'd prefer the talented youngster to be honest. We need two guys who can hold up an end and who bowl a good line and length - especially in that first session as you said.

Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson dropped from Australia squad for Adelaide Test

* AAP
* December 02, 2010 12:53PM

Captain Ricky Ponting said on Thursday a final starting XI would be decided before play, but confirmed Johnson had been omitted from the 12-man squad.

Quicks Doug Bollinger and Ryan Harris are the pair vying for Johnson's spot in the starting team.

"Mitchell Johnson is out of the side, so we are down to the other quickies left and we'll decide the final make-up of the XI in the morning,'' Ponting said.

"The selectors felt that he just down on a bit of form and down on a bit of rhythm, I think that was probably highlighted in the last game.

"As we all know, the game of Test match cricket is hard enough as it is without having to try and find those types of things in the middle of a Test match.''

Ponting said Johnson was noticeably out of touch.

''... He has got a little bit of time now obviously before the Perth Test match to hopefully rediscover some of that rhythm,'' Ponting said.

"Everyone standing around the nets and watching him and watching him during the game last week realised he was a little bit off the mark and a bit off bowling the way that we know he can bowl.

"Quite often when we see most of our guys, it only takes (bowling coach) Troy (Cooley) and the coach (Tim Nielsen) and myself a few minutes to stand there and watch, and you just know whether those guys are in good touch or not.''

Australia: Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Clarke, Simon Katich, Shane Watson, Marcus North, Mike Hussey, Brad Haddin, Xavier Doherty, Doug Bollinger, Ryan Harris, Peter Siddle, Ben Hilfenhaus. (12th man to be named).
