They are claiming that with the short turn around and heat wave conditions expected that the bowlers will need some one to help them out hence the inclusion of an all rounder, no doubt MMarch.

We seem to be the only country that make these decisions based on looking after our bowlers yet they are our strength.

How about picking some batters that will keep them off the field for a longer period of time?

Friday forecast says tops 35, Saturday 31

Tim Paine is 0-5

Maybe we can just flip a bat instead?

lol

I can just see it now

Paine calls bat flip correctly and decides to bat

In the meantime, India are preparing to boycott the tour, effective if they cant bowl Australia out before tea lol

never forget Greatbatch's innings, great display of concentration
Yeah, it was terrific - Chris Cairns' debut test - I also remember Rackemann pounding away, 30 overs 1 for 20 odd - he was a good bowler... and think (I could be wrong) that's the test Danny Morrison played a nice conventional front foot defence shot to a ball that hit the badge of his helmet - perhaps off Rackemann

Anyway, if this wicket is bouncy you're a shot - but as Greatbatch showed tourists can bat under those conditions, and Kohli, Rahane, Pujara are fair players... and their quicks are much improved

Considering this isn't being played at the WACA in the 1990s I'm not sure why it would be bouncy as f**k.

From the 2 ODIs that have been played there I'd say it will be a bit of a spicy meatball though

I've heard pace and bounce mentioned, is that just people thinking Perth --> pace and bounce...

Spicy? The Indians like that in a meal, but not so much a cricket pitch... not sure your bats would be keen either!

The ODIs there have been spicy, for sure. The most recent one especially I thought was a cracking pitch, really racing through.

Of course whether that translates into any kind of similarities for a test match wicket remains to be seen.

I just got an alert on my phone - ‘Big changes for Perth test’.

The ‘big’ changes are - Finch is batting 5, Handscomb up to 4, Darsh to 3 and Uzi to open.

Talk about f**king deckchairs on the Titanic.

That's the worst 3-4-5 combination I can recall Australia ever having...
