None of that sounds like a man who "blamed the selectors" at all....

(And apologies for doing this in three posts, I kept getting some "internal server error" so had to split it up)

None of those comments are remotely similar to the one that was broadcast on Foxsports, maybe the Illawarra Mercury may have missed one. It was quiet a short interview and he was not in a good mood. .

If it was in the print media it would have been on Foxsports.

Justin Langer on ch10 news

same squad as first test. Tremain dropped from the squad

Mitch Marsh is part of the squad and Carey is there as cover for Paine, but Paine is fine

So it will be either same side as 1st test, or Mitch Marsh will get drafted into the XI.
All bowlers pulled up well and ready to go according to JL, so no need for Peter S.

And that's my point? It doesn't at all sound like the words of the same man who allegedly blamed selectors. It's completely incongruous, the complete opposite of what you claimed he said. It seems unlikely that a man who went on the record and blamed selectors wouldn't be asked about it on future interviews, so the fact there is zero record of it is strange.

Plus I'd argue there is absolutely no way Fox Sports don't take that and run with it on their site for weeks. They love stirring shit.

Seems on balance that likely the original comments were misunderstood

Can't say i'm surprised at the lack of changes, don't agree with, but there it is.
Test cricket is an after thought to CA. If it wasn't shield wouldn't be put on ice for 2 and half months during the test series.

I get that T20 brings in the $$$ to keep the show going. But there has to be a way to schedule it. They keep extending the bbl season, once extended, it's hard to shorten it again.

The unchanged squad is a complete joke.
A lot of batsman from both teams got a start and didn't go on with it in both innings.

I know everyone hates finch but they picked him so they need to stick with him.

Changing the team every test is fkn stupid. Unless it is absolutely necessary of course.

Agreed. Chopping and changing every match does no good, as much as I feel like Finch is a waste of space yuu can't just give him one test. That's exactly what a few of us are whinging about them doing to Burns and even Renshaw.

That said if he fails again, and in similar fashion, in this test then his spot should be considered open IMO
