To be fair, his overall 4th innings average is 50

I get the hate for him, certainly his behaviour at times is terrible - but he's a terrific bat... I don't get the Australian hate for him, given he seems to try and be Australian - imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and all

As I said in the other thread, he’s their bastard. We’re not supposed to like him and neither are they.

It's a good bit of banter... isn't it?

As others have said, he's right on both counts... Paine was good too... perhaps the microphones on is a good idea - then they have to be more controlled in what they say - would shut the likes of Warner up for sure... and force them to think a bit more
Warner would be best to say nothing then.

I dont really get why the ump stepped in and asked them to just play cricket, its not his job to tell them what they can and cant say and it was hardly getting out of control.

The ump should stick to trying to get his no ball calls right.

I think it is more of a love to have situation. Sport like any other form of entertainment needs people to cheer and people to boo. Without that it would be pretty boring tbh

Lol if Warner said something arrogant as that (and even he isn't so arrogant as to call himself the best player in the world) your d, u, m, and b keys would be copping a hammering.

Anyway, his batting and his pathetic posturing did the talking once again in the third and fourth innings. If only he could survive on ego alone...

Warner is next level - sorry, surely even Australians can see what a dickhead he is???

Also, Kohli is the best player in the world - Warner calling himself that would simply be delusional...

I'd imagine Viv Richards probably said similar - if he didn't his body language screamed it... Hadlee would never have said it, but again his behaviour said "I'm better than you"

Not sure why you'd get your knickers in a twist, if Smith had sad something like that, it's like fair play...

I don't like him either, but he is the best... Paine's chipping later "I know he's the captain, but you can't possibly like him as a bloke" (or similar) was good too

It's not really getting many knickers in a twist. People are just calling a spade a dickhead. And rightly suggesting that if a bloke in a green cap had said it there would be a big reaction from certain people and certain sections of the cricketing world.

I'm pretty sure I've made my feelings on Warner clear enough. He and Kohli should join AG and Haynetrain for a lesbian wedding posts series. They are made for each other

Yes, he's a dickhead

Some media would comment, they're after clicks... but I don't see how stating facts and being arrogant should cause too much offence... he is the best player in the world, and Paine is a stand-in/place holder (although for who is ambiguous) - so it's really just the second part that is in question at the moment

Yep- but I suspect that there is some kind of push to ensure this series doesn’t boil over

As an aside, I see Shaw has been ruled out and replaced by Agarwal who's been in NZ - openers have been poor, they've missed Shaw but you wonder whether they'd debut someone in the Boxing Day test

Pandya back in too - really need some batting ability in the critical #8 spot - Jadeja should have played this test

Also massive lols at Indians for using the "you've been belligerent arseholes in the past so you have to wear it when Kohli does it" defence.

These are the same f**kwits who get the cats arse when you bring up Tendulkar ball tampering when they bring up sandpapergate.

Kohli, king of Jimmy rustling.

Let the baby have his bottle, the only sledge or carry on that matters is the end result.

Win to Australia (hopefully).

If the keeper can yap all day long in the batsmans ear (and loudly at that, lot of times in another language) why cant a batsman yap to their captain?

Fair point if bowler at his mark and about to run in. But if its "banter" why pick on the batsman to be quiet?

Kholis seemed to have a problem with Paine chirping to him, or is it big bad aussie again?
