There is a reason why Australians produce such fast or tall bowlers. It's not like we are some kind of super athlete its because fast or tall is a way of taking wickets on Australian test wickets. Obviously Boult is underdone which one has to question should he have been rested after the English test series.

I suppose you can't wrap them in cotton wool..

Every country tries to create conditions that suit their team. Nothing new here. Does make for boring cricket at times. Haven't watched a test match in India for years. Are they still dust bowls over there?

Warner is arguably the best opener in the world these days. Since he got back into the side after the root uhh incident he has been very good.

Not sure there's much argument about it

I guess he hasn't done much on the sub-continent yet?

I don't like making big calls like best...Cook is in good form for example. Different sort of opener obviously.

Burns trying to play behind point again.

Solid knock but he didn't look as good as he did in Brisbane.

Yep, extra pace is key - and you have that in spades - is what it is - but to me your recent performance in England and the subsequent whining about the pitches shows it's not good for your bat's techniques (and of course, touring teams seldom like the conditions they face)

We really are missing Boult, I am not sure who that fellow is claiming to be him - too soon after the stress fracture, I think

Exactly right. Every country will doctor the pitches to suit themselves though, hence why we're hopeless with the pitches in England and the pitches that resemble Roland Garros in the subcontinent.

It will only get worse in Aus... It will only be a matter of time before every cricket ground caves into Mexican Tardball and every pitch will be a lifeless drop in.

The problem I have with that is that by making all the pitches roads... You lose what made touring Australia so special and such a unique challenge in world cricket.

Nowhere else in the world could you tour a country which had such a massive variance in pitch from ground to ground... Sure England has its moments... But pretty much all the grounds will be greenish with a bit of swing.

Australia... You had the WACA which was a paceman's dream and the batsman were seriously tested on how well they were off the back foot... You had the SCG which was where the spinners came in to it..

It was almost like when you toured Australia you were touring 5 different countries... And was probably a key reason why Australia were always so well balanced... Because you needed to be...

Now it's like you win the toss... Bat first... Score big in the first innings... And hope the opposition makes mistakes batting.
