He's now the first Aussie to score 3 consecutive 100's in a row twice.

Not even the Don did that, Hometown Harry Warner is some sublime form.

In saying that though, Warner would've been happy to have just scored one century back in Don's era
There were plenty shirt fronts in the Don era as well. But uncovered wickets and shitty equipment makes his record remarkable.

Derpy Bracewell should of taken that.

Dons era was helped by beating up a side wrecked post-war.

Meh, I think even if further back for that one it would've been tough to not step over the boundary line, but not a great look for bracewell. Not much reward for what was some reasonable bowling through that session, thanks in part to eht umpires, but Warner is in some shit hot form at present.

This. The undisputable fact that all those fanatical Indians on cricinfo (you know what I mean) neglect when their only argument in the process of trying to say how Tendulkar was better than Bradman is how Bradman only played tests in Australia and England and nowhere else.

Btw, would love to see the return of uncovered wickets (would never happen, as the game has now been tailored to favour the batsmen - everything from more powerful bats, to shorter boundaries). It would make matches played on flat pitches more interesting. I remember practising bowling some leg-spin on an uncovered wicket an hour after some moderate rain and the skid I got off the pitch was awesome! Found this interesting piece from Geoff Boycott regarding facing Derek Underwood's bowling on uncovered pitches. Just from the description, could you imagine the stink batsmen would kick up today in the media if they had to face these types of circumstances that Geoff mentioned:

Re Warner - averages 90 in South africa, and went ok last time in England (not great, but ok). It's the really slow wickets - India, UAE and modern day West Indies - where he's been shithouse.

40+ is hardly terrible overseas, although he's clearly better at home - as most batsmen are. To really be known as a great he'll have to perform better overseas (or at least, like Clarke, be pretty consistent overseas). As is he's got some work to do, but 15 tons in 45 tests is pretty handy

Wickets have been covered since the 60s. It's playing the season so early. A waca wicket in late January is going to be way different to one in November..

Also you have to factor in the fact in the old days you could pad up all day and not have to play a shot, my Grandfather used to tell me Hobbs and Sutcliffe were overrated because they played with their pads lol.

Mind you he was a hard marker who called Warne a blonde headed clown who wasn't nowhere near as Grimmett or O'Reilly and Benaud a pie thrower who couldn't bowl for sour apples lol.
