think Bracewell, Boult and Martin have shown they're decent test bowlers... and that 150km is not necessary... at least not on decks that offer a little

Warner will tighten up I guess, who know what Haddin will do - a cameo can swing it back to Aust quickly - in the balance now, but your tail, esp Siddle looks reliable

Go the KIWIS

Still a heap of runs to get, Haddin needs a solid little 30 not out here, while NZ are a chance of winning if they get Warner early after the break. Stunning capitulation, but we're coming to expect that from this side

FFS we have too many Marcus Norths in this team.

you will have a difficult few years I guess

At the moment you don't have a world-class player in the team, Clarke would be closest but I'd suggest he's been riding his luck a little

Cummins and Pattinson look promising, but on the latter remember NZ has a special gift for making anyone that bowls 145+ look like a world beater - check Mohammed Sami!

Good to see an exciting test, the wicket has made it interesting, and suited us pretty well I guess... AUst still favourites, just

I am still very confident Australia will win, lots of wickets in hand, not many runs to get, a lot of time to get them

That was a disgraceful shot from Clarke. Punter is finished we all know it but he doesn't and nobody has the nuts to tell him. Hussey got a decent ball first up I though. If we lose this I'll be fuming.

Warner is a ripper.

Warner is the key here, if we cant get him before you guys are within 50, bye bye test I reckon.

Another great effort from our bowlers, nice to see us fighting.

can't beat it... and tbh a wicket like this is not a bad thing - given that it kept some life, the game wasn't as over as we all thought on day 1

I'd love to see more pitches like this. Small totals but a game can turn in ten minutes.

Pattinsons shape impresses me, pretty consistent with where he pitches the ball and a good movement out, just enough to draw the shots. I think he could be pretty good.

Hussey is in awful form at the moment. Our batting depth is poor when we are so convinced Shaun Marsh is the answer to our problems based on a couple of tests on benign Sri Lankan pitches.

You can't count on your 8-11 carrying you through every match. Haddin has to stick around. If he gets out to a shit shot again the 'I was playing my natural game' excuse won't cut it. NZ would love Vettori right now, both to bowl at Warner and then the tail.

Surely some pressure should come on Ponting and to a lesser degree Hussey?? Both 37 and let's face it aren't going to get any better. Hughes has to go and one of Ponting and Hussey should make way. It won't happen but it should.

Clarke played a poor shot but he's been carrying us for a while now. Hussey got a ripper of a first ball, Ponting has a couple of runs under his belt recently...so it looks like Hughes and Usman are the one to go for the Boxing Day Test should the selectors go that way. Rightfully so too, Usman is probably a little unlucky as at least he's been fighting a bit and shown glimpses, but Hughes has been awful. Both will benefit from time in the shield and come back better

it should have happened a while back. hard to blood young players in a test series v India

He looks good, but the caveat is that we have made many relatively quick bowlers look better than they are...

Your team needs to rebuild, and patience is required... (not enough that Hughes should keep playing though )

IMO Bottom line is Ponting and Hussey shouldn't be there any more, Haddin's on his last legs, and Hughes simply isn't up to it at the moment... Clarke is good, but not that good...

Khawaja and Warner are worth persevering with, as are Cummins and Pattinson... Starc and Johnson are not up to it at the moment, Harris can't play back to back tests - if you're NZ and Shane Bond you have to work with that, but your have depth and Harris is no Bond. Siddle is honest, that's all

Tail helped in South Africa (even in Newlands) and the South African attack is better than the NZ attack. Haddin sucks, Siddle could make the runs though, Siddle has the perfect temperament for this situation and the ability to stay out there and make the required runs.
