I know Warner has been one of our most inform batsmen over the last year but that was a disgraceful dismissal. They don't even look like they're bothered to have a go at surviving.

I am a fan of his, but that dismisal sucked.

But in his defence, I doubt he counted on having to keep as long as he did...

Time for a change big clean out needed..

Rogers
Mawell
Haddin
Siddle

Should all go..

Drop Clarke to 5 Move Smith to 3.

Bring in bloody Hughes to open...

O'Keefe to be the top spinner Lyon can carry the drinks

Sick of everyone throwing away their wickets..

We beat England 5-0 but really any team would have beaten them...

Also in his defence, he's not the man we should be counting on to save a Test match. He's a star, but he's not the kind of bloke you count on to bat for two days. Clarke and Rogers were those guys and they got out a lot cheaper.

1. Warner
4. Smith
5. Clarke
8. Johnson

The rest is debatable before India I reckon. No need for maxwell, even for drinks IMO

Can Fawad Ahmed bowl? How far down the list is he if he even makes the list? Remember reading about him and how we was a brilliant leggie, doesn't seem so now

I'm a fan of Marsh after this series.... Seems like he really learns quickly from his mistakes.

For India, I think these are the certainties:

1. Warner
2. Rogers
3.
4. Clarke
5. Smith
6. Marsh
7. Haddin (if fit)
8. Johnson
9. Siddle
10.
11. Lyon

Watson will come in if fit.

I think its what the selectors will go with. Fact is, we don't really have anything better at first class level, other than Hughes (who presents a new weakness everytime he gets selected). Rogers is 2-3 poor tests away from being dropped. Harris would certainly improve this side to no end..

His test average is 47, he's hardly a plodder. I think some people just see his age and assume he's crap.

I think Australians sometime assume everyone not Australian is crap...

By god, in conditions that don't suit there is some shit in your team, this is a reality check, I trust, rather than assuming it's an aberration. In quick bouncy (home, Sth African) conditions you're good - largely on the back of Warner, Johnson, and to a lesser extent Haddin, Smith and Clark... outside of those, jury is well and truly out

The last thing we need to do is panic and drop half the team. It's partly to blame for our performance this test. Should've picked the same XI from game one, Maxwell and Starc were utterly useless.

Definitely missing Harris, but sadly he has a limited lifespan anyway. He's important for Johnson as well, allows Johnson to just bowl as quick as he needs to rather than also being the pressure guy. Johnson has bowled pretty well though this series on pitche giving him nothing.

We certainly are dead average on slow wickets. Partly that's because our players grow up on fast, bouncy wickets. It's crucial to both how they bat and bowl, and with barely anything in the way of acclimitisation and only two tests they're up against it.

Pakistan have been very good though. They've simply outplayed us. I'm concerned over Clarkes back, and im sick of throwing whoever the newest player is in at number three, I think that's madness. I think it's also worth saying that the toss has been pretty important, regardless of pitch it's a different mentality going fresh into the game or starting 500 behind in your innings.

Mitch Marsh is a funny one. Been stronger with ball than bat in first class cricket, his battng looks a fair bit better here though. Probably in part the pitches again.

Steve Smith continues to impress, he'll be around a long time, just has a great mentality now that they seem to realise that was his strength all along, and his technique has tightened up somewhat to boot. Still could cause trouble (particularly in a bad run of form) but have been impressed with him.
