Australian cricket needs to stop looking for another Gilly and pick a good keeper (like Nevill is). I rank Gilly as an all-rounder as he was very good at two skills (batting and wicket-keeping). The only other player like him on the planet over the last ten years or so is Dhoni.
I'd rather a keeper that can keep very well and bat ok than a guy who keeps like shit and can bat ok.

I cant see Wade going to India, he was dropped previously and he is in worse form now.

Neville deserves another go, as for no 6, dunno. Maddo looked OK today but needs to do more and may not get many, if any, more chances

If he scores some runs in the third test I'd take Maddinson to India probably, he looked much calmer and more comfortable today from what I was able to watch at work. But he'd be a reserve and I'd bat Smarsh at 6. He's a good player of spin....

Well actually Rog he came through the ranks as a keeper....he only gave up the gloves for Victoria because Wade was there full time, despite Handscomb being better

At the moment, picking Handscomb as a wicketkeeper would be like picking Wade...albeit a better batsman. At the moment, it has to be Nevill.

I'd obviously prefer Nev but if it got Wade out of the side I'd be all over the idea of Handscomb getting the gloves.

It's not like he would have forgotten what he was doing, he'd be doing nearly as much work as Wade off the pitch

Im of exactly the same view. I'd want him to keep at a state level before even considering it though.In saying that, it would be bloody awesome if he could do it.

Yes Wade has been given another go and he's failing. He has to go for good now. Got to bring Nevill back.

Another concern is how would Renshaw handle things in India????

I think S. Marsh will come in for Maddinson.

Could Handscomb keep on batting well at 5 though with the gloves???? I feel he's there for the long term at 5.

If Handscomb can keep and say in a few years from now he's averaging about 43 with the bat then it's a success.

Handcombe keeping has some merit, but not yet, not for the Indian tour

They are gonna post some huge totals in hot conditions. We need a reliable keeper where his batting isn't no where near as important as his keeping (provided the top 6 bats regularly do their job)

He needs to learn the art of inventing clever random nicknames and then just rant them into the stump mic as often as it takes for the audience to catch on.

If we have an all rounder in Sydney its generally a spinner like Agar, if only he could bowl.

I wouldn't count on Maxwell as a spinning all rounder basically because he cant bowl, he only bowls 3 or 4 overs in an ODI game and he certainly isn't a strike bowler

Wade's so f**king annoying it's horrendous, I actually want Aust to pick a decent keeper

I would not be surprised to see SOK play in Sydney for one of the quicks, as well as Cartwright for Maddinson.

My concern is the more tactical changes they make the less likely they are to punt Scissorhands.
