Retiring hurt cause of cramp or heat doesn't sit right with me... Dean Jones' innings in Madras was far more adverse than what Davey has experienced today... I reckon he should be prohibited from resuming his innings tbh....
Got to let the other kids bat.

You can retire hurt with an illness. Heat exhaustion is an illness. An illness that can be fatal, tbh.

Weird take
Yep, differences though cramp is from playing, it is what it is, rules are rules and he might get a few more tomorrow

Cramp is also one of the first symptoms of severe dehydration or heat exhaustion.

Facetiousness aside I can't see any way anyone wins any argument that you can't retire hurt and must retire out in those circumstances. It's a bit ridiculous actually

I think under the conditions, even if there's discretion involved, allowing Warner to retire hurt is sensible and sporting. Clearly in bad shape in extreme conditions.

It's a grey area IMO.... He's got the "illness" of heat exhaustion because he has been out in the sun doing what he's employed and paid to do, with plenty of drinks breaks and what not on the hour etc. I dunno, what's the humidity at the MCG today anyone know? I just feel like it's a bit soft given how prepared and pampered (prolly part of the problem) players are today....
