I cant stand Johnson really, but he's bowling better than Starc. If they have to a pick a lefty you'd think Faulkner would be the better option.

Starc bowled terribly against SOuth Africa in the second innings, which is why he got hit for 150+ runs, and sure he looked a bit better once he'd run through a tail but if the MJ era taught us anything it should be that taking wickets from trash will catch up with you eventually.

Johnson, not bowling perfectly, but making them play and causing the batsmen more trouble than Starc was (note batsmen, not tail enders).
Starc is 22, he will improve and he has in the last 12 months. The only way he will continue to improve is too f**king play. Johnson has bowled ok this morning whats too say he would have 3 by now himself????

FFS Channel 9 stop using the long shots. All I see is two tone green with several white streaks where the players are supposed to be.

Even the f**king scorecards are aliasing like crazy

Don't the MCG usually mow the outfield into different shapes..

I'm sure there was a massive map of Tassie out there last year..

Maybe he could improve by earning his spot in shield cricket (when it's being played, obviously), rather than bowling poorly and getting selected as he did this year.

He should be first picked in ODI/T20 international sides, has been given a golden ride into the test side though.

Could be his stag party. But year it was a real crack up.

But it seems fancy dress costumes at the cricket had gotten very popular. In fact there was that competition last year

Thought there's be more Santa Hats though.

Also seems Bird is really a Blue bagger

Jawardene is a completely different batsmen away from home.

He may have an overall record similar to Sangakkara but Kumar is far and away the better player.

I'd put Kumar as the best bat of the last few years tbh, fantastic player, best left hander to watch play as well.

Anyway, good to see Sids with another wicket

Did the selectors ever address why Starc was rested as a precautionary measure while they gave Clarke - who had a legitimate injury - every chance to play?
