Did the selectors ever address why Starc was rested as a precautionary measure while they gave Clarke - who had a legitimate injury - every chance to play?
He's not a fast bowler?

The rotation and resting has only ever been about fast bowlers.

So Johnson managed to make it to noon before imploding...

Johnson at more than 5 an over. Everyone else below 2 an over. FFS.

Couple of those were good shots from Sangakkara though, superb batsmen. He's otherwise bowled well. The performance in general has been pretty good tbh.

Mind you if Sangakkara goes on with it we'd be in trouble

Jackson Bird is a 'no nonsense' formidable-looking Australian sportsman, much in the same vein as Ben Creagh

Tendulkar, Lara and Sangakarra all needed the exact same number of innings to get to 10,000 runs. Amazing coincidence.

Maybe he could improve by earning his spot in shield cricket (when it's being played, obviously), rather than bowling poorly and getting selected as he did this year.

He should be first picked in ODI/T20 international sides, has been given a golden ride into the test side though.
Like Johnson did to get back in the side??

Can we finally get rid of the tattooed fairy yet???

You related to Mitch or something red bear?

Honestly how you can defend this nuffie is beyond me. Pie after f**king pie is all you get from this no talent ass clown.

He is simply not a test standard bowler , never has been other than in Perth. And at 31 he isn't going to get better.

It's a bloody travesty he has been given all the chances and a guy like doug bollinger has been shunned.

Neither Starc or Johnson should be there.

Injuries have just really scrambled the situation to where the selectors have gone back to former players or prospects.

A prospect beats a proven under performer every time though.

Starc is almost 10 years younger.

And hell , what about a 31 y.o who has 50 wickets in 12 tests @ 25 with a strike rate of 48!!!!!

Nah , we wouldn't want to select a guy with genuine talent.
