Boult's been fine imo - Southee is not at all threatening - but the main issue is the batting

We disagree on this.

The batting is a concern, obviously, but the drop in the bowling has led to some big totals on the board against NZ.

Stokes at Lords was ugly, but since then Gabba, Waca, Wellington and Chch where Boult did nix. Wagner then KW saved the 2nd test against Sri Lanka, the frontline / strike bowlers have been ordinary. Boult has looked tame all summer bar a few overs at Adelaide and a jammy c&b at Welly.

Southee has looked better in the past too.

The batting will improve with Taylor, and there are other options in FC cricket to try with the bat (Raval, Smith, Young, Bruce, Munro even Ryder). There are no new Boults or Suthee's in FC.

Nuttall? Seems the next cab off the rank. No one other than him is shining.

The delusion of the strength of the NZ test cricket side from some forum members is strong

Stronger than your top 6 anyways

All of these lame posters coming out of the woodwork.

For the record, I am not sure there's a NZ cricket fan on here that wouldn't concede that Australia are a better Test team

McCullum a big wicket but still the big fish & Anderson at the crease, with Watling still to come. Bowlers need to finish the job tomorrow asap, hopefully we're chasing less than 100

Before this series I thought we were close - this series has shown we're not, conclusively

Still hopeful we'll put up a fight here - but only 2 wickets left

Good day for the Aussies, getting the last wicket was big. Get KW early and we could be chasing less then 100.

Pretty clear now we've slipped quite a lot - the addition of Guptill and absence of Taylor, plus Boult's injury - but Australia have improved immensely since the Ashes - thing the absence of the Clarke sideshow is a part of that, and that Smith is clearly a better leader

I'd love a selection shakeup and the return of a good bowling coach - and a test lineup of:

Latham
Smith
Williamson
Taylor
TBA - perhaps Ryder, or else Nicholls or Young
Neesham (he offers more and has done more with the bat than Anderson)
Watling
Santner (needs to improve his bowling)
Wagner
Southee
Boult

12th Henry

Henry needs to do more to push someone out

A fast bowling unit of Hazlewood, Pattinson and Starc with a fully fit Cummins is a truly mouth watering prospect.

Think all things Clarke was wearing a little thin with the team, they look a far more happy and settled unit. Clarke was great tactically but was hardly a great leader of men. While Smith looks to be respected from all the playing group.
