These commentators have been harping on about wagners not getting called for a no ball every time I've switched over. Give it up bros the umps can't look everywhere

I trust he gets the "thanks for your service Pete" now - shame, I like him, and he's been great in the slips.

While I want to see the back of Rutherford for a while too, hopefully he and Willamson can bat a large chunk of tomorrow, but by god he's too loose in this situation

Fulton is just so god awful. Is he really the best the kiwis have at the moment?

No, not at all - he had a terrific first class season last year, and was deservedly picked - then had an amazing test against England... but has regressed to what he was...

Many better around than him (and Rutherford tbh) - the veterans Flynn, How, Papps, and the youngsters Latham, Raval, and other middle order players like Cachopa, Broom etc... many, all complicated by the drunk f**kwit who if he had half a brain would be batting 4 in this test...

hmmm, well, I guess before the series we'd have been happy with a draw... but disappointing showing really, piss weak effort from the bats...

1. Guess we'll never have a 3 or 5 test series against 'tier 1' teams, shame.
2. We desperately need two openers who can bat sessions... Latham deserves a crack, and I would seriously look at Flynn - we cannot continue to effectively start our innings at 2 for f**k all with Willamson and Taylor at the crease within 4-5 overs
3. Ryder the merkin - Latham had tried hard, but obviously we'd be much better off with a sober Ryder at 4... but it seems he cannot be sober for more than a couple of weeks - I trust NZ cricket never goes there again...

McCullum playing a real captain's knock.

On Fulton, everytime I've seen him play..he looks nothing but bog average. Plus he's 35.. Surely he's gotta be moved on. Rutherford is young and deserves a longer crack at it.

Great innings by McCullum and Watling, if they stick around long enough and our tail wags (which it is very capable of) then we might even get a defendable lead of around 200.

McCullum deserves a lot of credit for his batting. He cops a lot of flak from the media and public but has done a very good job with his batting and captaincy of late.

Agreed. McCullum has been very good this season. Great determination today with Watling. Rutherford and Latham both got out when set, major shame because both were looking excellent. I dare say they should be the opening bats

Yep, I reckon we should bite the bullet now, and commit for two years to a top 6 (injury permitting) of
Latham
Rutherford
Williamson
Taylor
McCullum
Anderson

Not completely sold on Rutherford, but the likes of Flynn, Redmond, How, Guptill etc are a step back - Flynn would be my choice, but Rutherford needs to iron a few things out and he'll go ok

Not yet convinced by Anderson in tests either, but with Ryder being Ryder, it's Anderson's slot - I guess the likes of Neesham, Munro, Cachopa and in a year or two O'Donnell will be in the wings
