Fair point, Gronk. If there was a change in relation to something that had previously been put forward, it wouldn't have taken long to post something on a website or send an email out to members or something.
I totally dig it, Sanga.
But this doesn't come from a desire to have a bitch session. It came from the fact that multiple people were commenting about it on Sunday and we actually had to send one guy out of the LC to Church St. because he wanted to have a bet.
As I've already said, some things are gonna take ages. HoF is one example. On the other hand, some things shouldn't take ages and as has been said by the likes of barty in this thread there is no reason why we shouldn't be allowed to ask questions about what's going on, especially since I'm having to send people out of the LC to place their bets.
Now I can dig that some people didn't like the title but I didn't start this thread. I simply supported the question based on the fact that I was with Scorps in the LC when the questions were being asked by patrons and I was directing them to venues outside the LC. Some have said the TAB is a minor issue but in regards to what I have just said I somewhat beg to differ.
On the same note, if I can put something else forward whilst I seem to have an opportunity to interact with you...
Speaking of turning people away from the LC, there's a whole bunch that will be spending the pre-game time period on Saturday before the Warriors game at another venue. When looking forward with the Club, this might be something that should be kept in mind. Obviously nothing can be done about it before Saturday but we unfortunately have to put up with the likes of Col, Twiz and Haynzy on several occasions throughout the year and so if we have to suffer through that pain it might be good if the LC is sucking down our misery dollars instead of places such as the R&C.
Cheers, and thanks for taking the time to post.
I also apologise for the signing of Paul Osbourne, Justine Poore, Shane Shackleton and Tamana Tahu, and I am sincerely sorry that we are charging for the semi's with the players now jumping out of their skin being part of a new beginning. I am sorry we let the kids run on the field on the weekend, and I am sorry we had all those noisy people in the club and the auditorium on Sunday night for the presenation.
C'mon Sevens, those signings are nothing.
All those things dont matter
I wanna put a $5 bet on a Horse Race somewhere in South Africa.
Who cares if we are marching to the eight and kids running on the field and a after match function.
Timana who?
No matter what the new board do, it wont make people happy.
Just that paragraph you mentioned is more then what the previous CEO did for the past 30 years.
Give me a break
well said mate, and with that we can probably end this thread (although somehow I feel we wont)
Jesus I was the one who stated on the balcony of Sterlo's that we would be putting a betting facility back into the club, and that will happen, As soon as the right deal for this club and its members is struck, we will have a betting facility. The day of the players reunion a few of us had some good mail, and every one of them got up and paid reasonable odds, so I have already copped an earful on this matter as well as being out of pocket. Tell your mates that they will be back having a punt in our club hopefully very soon, and if they dont come back, I will send you around to annoy them.
Talk soon
Sevens.
Perhaps a little bit of communication to the LC/FC members would avoid a thread like this ? ;-)
Very sorry Gronk, can I ask what communication you got from the previous board on what they were doing. No one from the board or management has had time to scratch let alone get on this forum. I and all the board have been at that club after games and during the week, and I have seen many of you in the club, so why not come up and ask the questions you want answered instead of taking pot shots on here. This club is not quite jumping at this stage, but even you Gronk would have to admit it is not a bad start.
And this is why the thread was started, I think.
Someone had a question about why something hadn't happened that we were told was gonna happen and the likes of yourself and Jodeci make good replies and answer the question. I'm absolutely 100% cool with that.
The problem I had within this thread was the whole "wait 12 months" or "wait until the next election" stuff, being told I'm a coward for using the very forum that has been identified as a means of acceptable communication in the past and being told I have an agenda when I was merely responding to events that happened with LC patrons on Sunday. That's an utter load of crap.
Whether in person or here on this forum we should be entitled to ask questions. People have come here posted what I consider to be satisfactory answers and so I, personally, am very happy with the situation.
Once again, thanks for taking the time to post.
To be honest mate, this is a League forum and I personally dont think its the place for members here to be demanding answers from the club regarding certain issues.
We should be grateful for anytime or responses that we get from our officials here as to my knowledge the Eels are the only club to have any interaction with their officials on this or any other internet forums.
I them Suity or some one mentioned that some of our officials are available after the game for an informal chat face to face. That surely is a better option than taking pot shots at them from behind a keyboard.
Just my take on the situation.

Please read my last post, Twiz. Face to face isn't often an option for me when getting to and from games/LC isn't a stroll like it is for some of those city folk.
I assume this is also aimed at those who still can not get past putting the boot into the old board. To be honest mate, this is a League forum and I personally dont think its the place for members here to be demanding answers from the club regarding certain issues.

Just my take on the situation and this response it not aimed at you HJ, rather anyone who fits in the pot shot category.

I'm not taking pot shots, Sevens. I don't live anywhere near the Club and only get there on game days. I didn't hang around after the game because my trains only come every hour and they take an hour to get me home. The game finished at 4:45 on Sunday and I didn't get home until almost 7pm. Staying around and trying to navigate what I assumed would be a decent crowd at the post-match would have meant me getting home even later, which I don't wanna do on a Sunday.
My point is that not everyone gets the chance to stroll into the Club on a regular basis in order to have in-person chats. For some people places like this are most often the only means of interaction we have.

If i received an email from the club with a statement regarding the reinstating of the TAB to the Sterlo's bar i would have been very confused, slightly bored, and wondering where the latest news of a signing/team announcement/team function was.
Those emails go out to thousands and thousands of people, and only a few would have actually read news about a TAB with some interest - especially considering many people who use it at the Leagues club are opposition fans!
If one or two people were truly interested in the status of the TAB - i would expect them to take it upon themselves to enquire to the club, it's not the responsibilty of the new board to bring us up to s[eed on every little decision made! (Big decisions, YES - little decisions, NO)
Sounds to me like a couple of people looking to stir sh*t - which no doubt they've enjoyed doing and will be able to smile themselves to sleep at night once again...
