To the monkey's who started this pathetic thread, yes a TAB will be introduced.

There are contracts in place at the moment that the old board have signed off and the current manangement can't do a lot of things as breaking those contracts would mean court action and payouts.

In Sterlo's, those stupid doors that do out to the balcony have been signed off to be replaced by automatic doors.

Regarding the TAB, the new board are drawing up plans for Sterlo's to make it more a pub atmosphere with TAB, snooker, big screens, more tables and chairs, etc.

You can understand they need to scope the work out and draw up plans on how it will all fit up there, will they knock downs walls to make it bigger, etc

These are all factors they need to consider and do u expect that in the few months they have been there for, your kidding....

As Staggs mentioned, the board are going through a major restructure with staff to save some money, etc.

Did you know we rent out the lights in the auditorium still to this day from the night club days???

Stop whinging and support the club. It will all happen

However I don't think people are monkeys for asking questions on here, or for having/posting an opinion/emotion about information that they haven't been informed about... People taking offence to people being critical is where this thread went off the rails for mine.

Thanks also to Parra Future for the information you could share - at the end of the day keeping things open and not behind closed doors is what the new era is all about, I'm sure.

Two more bits of info for you all.

Someone mentioned within the last ten pages that it is hard to get the Directors ears. That is actually incorrect. Lyn Wallace (one of the newly appointed Directors of the Leagues Club) has just told me that anyone that has any queries what-so-ever can approach any of the directors after the game in the auditorium. They are more than happy to take any of your questions and provide people with any info that is possible to share if you ask them.

Secondly, Terry Leabeater will be viewing the thread later this evening and trying to answer any questions that you may have. Hope that helps.

I don't think people are taking offence for being critical of the new board, they are taking offence for the way in which they are being critical. Starting a thread with a title that calls them liars after barely being in the job is just downright disrespectful IMO.

you're right Gronk, and they shouldn't be and they've encouraged members to approach them if they had any queries and also nudge them from behind if they felt that they've dropped the ball in certain areas...

they're certainly not protected species but in the fairdinkum department, 3 months is not a long time to be shaking and moving in this game as they need to be 100% certain that they get things right from the clubs management to it's facilities and the quality of service it provides.

I think people were overreacting based on a couple of stray words, and said as much early on in the thread. No-one was fussed about respect for the previous Board, and I just find it amusing to observe the inconsistencies.

Anyway, it's done and dusted now, the information is flowing and the issue that people had is being answered and cleared up. And everyone's a winner as a result...

Try not to shoot me down in flames too much - but as my mate is an Eels fan, I've seen his disappointment from time to time in the team on the field, and sank a beer or two as we've traversed the pokie labyrinth at the leagues after the game.

My line of thinking would be (from an outsider) - wouldnt it be more important to get things right ON the field for the rest of the year first. Then when the season is over, concentrate on getting the leagues club itself in order, primed for next season?

I totally agree mind you that a leagues club without pool tables, sports lounges and TAB's etc is essentially a glorified casino - but dammit if all clubs arent headed in that direction. Mores the shame.

Here's hoping all gets back on track asap!

I can see your point about that one word... but I can also see how a regular punter might come to see the election promises as exactly that, in posting an opinion-based thread on an issue.

We all seem to say the same about other elected politicians actions or inactions a lot of the time, and no-one gets that upset.

As I said yesterday, I await the moment when the new levels of awareness and scrutiny regarding the club (that were created by the campaigning) can simply stay in place equally now (rather than be discouraged), as the club moves forward.
