As much as I’d like to blame the AFL, they’ve managed to do reasonable drop in pitches in Adelaide & Perth.

Appears to me there’s a Melbourne problem here.

Yep.

Everywhere else, the drop ins have improved. Melbourne hasn't.

It's a fallacy to blame the AFL anyway. Other grounds have told them to sod off, the MCG and MCC could have simply told them "we'll get rid of the square when it's known as the Melbourne AFL Stadium instead of the MCG."

Everyone involved is partly to blame

The curator at the MCG seems to have it in his head that the viewing public wants runs, runs and more f*cking runs, no we want a contest between bat and ball, maybe when crowd numbers start to dwindle they might finally get a clue.

It’s a new curator this year, he’s aware of the problem but he’s working with the previous soil. I’d say the whole thing needs an overhaul, start with new soil.

Wtf? How does this vindicate picking Marsh, he's about as much chance of taking a wicket as a batsmen is of being out hitting the ball twice
