Oh lord, is this pitch as flat and utterly shit as it looks? No idea how we'll get Pujara and Kohli out on this. This team is far too weak to come back into the game if the opposition goes large in the first dig. Until Smith and Warner come back, the best chance this side has of winning is to bat first and cobble together 300 and put the pressure on with our quality attack.

Going to be a huge test for Lyon today, up until a year or so ago, if the batsmen took him on, he'd lose his variation pretty quickly. Coukd be a long, lonnng day for us.

He's Australia's less talented version of Kevin Pietersen.

KP clearly has a massive ego and clashed with people in the setup, but ultimately you did always get the impression he wanted what he felt was best for the team.

I can't see KP going around convincing new players to cheat with him

All 3 bozos can get stuffed.

Bancroft knew it was cheating and wrong but wanted to fit in - get f**ked. Plus he's not that good anyway.

Warner is a cheat, a bully, a sook, a wanker - should never get another look in.

Smith not putting a stop to it should preclude him from ever getting near leadership anywhere again. He'll be back but as a fan any innings he plays or has played will be sullied.
As soon as Smithy starts cracking quality hundreds again, the aussie crowds will forgive him, and rightfully so. He's copped the harsh punishment and people need to move on.

I know I'm able to forgive Smith. I see Smith's failure was as a captain, not as a player.

Bancroft should have had the strength of character to say 'you're kidding, gotta be gee up'.

But yeah, once time has been served, it's time to move on I think.

I guess Warner now knows what is meant by plausable deniability.

True.

I always liked KP and I'm still livid he got the chop when he had another few years in him.

The man was a genius and pure entertainment and as an England fan I felt robbed.

But clearly he rubbed a few people the wrong way. Though I'd argue that they should have been professional and gotten over it; just as every bloke who played with Warne did lol

Pitch is flattening out even more, these drop in pitches they use at the MCG are an abject failure, no prizes for guessing the organisation responsible, and it's not the MCC.

As much as I’d like to blame the AFL, they’ve managed to do reasonable drop in pitches in Adelaide & Perth.

Appears to me there’s a Melbourne problem here.

The curator at the MCG seems to have it in his head that the viewing public wants runs, runs and more f*cking runs, no we want a contest between bat and ball, maybe when crowd numbers start to dwindle they might finally get a clue.
