Hughes is averaging 17.30 over his last 6 tests (10 innings)

How much longer is he persisted with?

Watson is Averaging 31 thats not good enough either.. Should be time he went down to six Marsh to open with Someone and Hughes out the door again..

This is true, and he is also our best bowler as well. If he is going to be used more and more as a front line bowler, then n06 beckons

Dropping Katich was a huge mistake, could easily have played another 2-3 years

stumps day 3

SL 6/428 - 112 run lead - 155 overs

mathews 85*

We need quick, early breakthroughs tomorrow morning, then bat out the test

Not long if Khawaja can make a score in a early shield game or tour match.

If Hughes is dropped again I think he might just be gone forever

not sure about that, but he will need a good (real good) season or two of domestic cricket to force his way back. Especially over the next two years hussey and punter youd think would retire. So a couple of vacancies up for grabs, also sunshine down the order at some point as well.

Idoubt Jonhson will be dropped in SA considering how well he bowled over there last time.

with Hildich in charge I agree with you, but hopefully these selectors will be looking more at current form rather than what he did 2 years ago

looking at this pitch a draw looks very likely

Sounds like Copeland was unlucky not to get more. Johnson has to go, just too inconsistent and his wayward ways aren't bringing about the wickets anymore.

As for the match, our batsmen have struggled to save any Test of late and if they bat like they did in the 1st innings we will be losing this one.

Sounds like Copelands bowled well without much luck, hopefully he gets further opportunities on a non-flat wicket in South Africa.

hopefully

we really should bat the next day and a half out and take this series

time for Punter and Clarkie to stand up and be counted

agree

enough of this "I have been hitting them pretty well and feel I can contribute a lot to the team" after getting out in the 30s or 40s

Seems he doesn't want to do what he did last time round and go for the big shot to get his 100 instead taking a single an over.
