Copeland bowls 5 that they play and miss in his first over,

4 runs off Siddle's first two balls so far and Sri Lanka are off the mark

all that pressure wasted

Hopefully  we won't be seeing Siddle again after the conclusion of this tour

Haddin asking for a review on a ct behind which really shows nothing

No deviation and the sound was interesting because on the slow replay it sounds like an edge but real time all I heard was him shuffling the crease.

Unlike close catches you know 100% when you've hit the edge but under the system it's a fair call.

I don't think he hit but nothing could prove it but it also shows why every test needs the same technology, out here we'd have the zoom in replay and toss of the coin hot spot and all the other crap.

No point having the review. A bit of that ball was nearly hitting middle.

3/4's of it was crashing into off.

If we draw this it will be incredible. Johnson won't play tests at home this summer if he can't take wickets in South Africa.

I agree, we need to take 3 or 4 wickets in the first session to be a chance of the win. Even the draw will be a big ask if they get a 200 run lead. Really need Lyon to get a few.

I was down the club last night and the whole sports bar was like "why do we have a referral system, that was clearly out, yet given not out"

there is really no point in having a referral system in this format, it doesn't work

just on Siddle, I thought he fought back well after conceding early runs, but we are still not good at building pressure on a pitch that suits the batsmen like this one, Notch needs to tighten up as I thought Siddle bowled better than him last night and thats without looking at the figures

There we go..Watson with the breakthrough..

I was worried those 2 were going to put on a 300 odd run partnership..

1 more wicket & we bust them right open IMO..

He gets a lot of hate,Sidds, but i don't think any one could doubt the passion & effort he puts into playing for his country..

I've got a lot more confidence in Siddle than Johnson ATM..

If Sidds had Johnson's talent he would be a sensation IMO..

I dont think anyone can doubt Siddle's passion, just his execution and ability.

Dilshan is giving him a bit of a touch up atm. He cant get his length right, he said he wants to bowl a bit fuller in SL, which I agree with as he bowls way too short generally, but these half volleys he's bowling to Dilshan are just cannon fodder.

Notch seems to have slipped down the pecking order, he is behind Sunshine now as Clarkie doesn't give him the love that Punter used to.

Just on Copeland, he is good with the new ball but offers nothing with an old ball on a flat pitch. He's 120K pies dont really put too much pressure on the batsmen, he's too easy to work for singles, he cant build pressure with the old ball imo.

He's not the future for mine, Pattinson and Hazlewood will push him out when they are ready imo.

I said last year I didn't think think Copeland would be a good international bowler (and got flamed for it) and I've seen nothing to change that, he will no doubt get more games but if we are gonna fight our way back to No 1, we need better than him imo.

Time will tell if I'm right.
