Congrats to India on a well deserved series victory. Despite the defeat, Australia are still the No1 team, no doubt about that. India need to perform more consistently in away matches to be a real contender for the No1 spot. And under MS Dhoni, i do see that happening. And i must praise him for first, allowing Ganguly to lead(Captain) the side towards the end and then call upon Kumble to collect the trophy. Easily one of the best captains currently.

Looking forward to the series against England.

Good luck to Oz for the series against NZ.

.

To be blunt he doesn't have a lot of competition does he - is there another half decent international captain atm?

Not sure on India though - bowling attack looks good, but the aging batting lineup must be a growing concern - especially with the great Dravid a shadow of his former self, and even though he had a good series Temdulkar too is not the player he was

its gonna be interesting to see where India go from here

even with Kumble out of their bowling, they wont struggle, their depth may be tested if Sharma or Khan are injured

Gangles gone, Dravid may be or may struggle to be reselected, Laxman may not be too far from retiring either.

Tendulker still looks like he could play till he's 40.

Murali Vijay and Robin Utappa will replace Dravid and Laxman.

Murali Vijay is an opener & might only get a chance if Sehwag/Gambhir get injured/banned, as both are doing well in both forms of the game.

Robin Uthappa has a long way to go yet, let him cement his place in the ODI team first, let alone taking Dravid/Laxmans place in the Test squad.

Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Badrinath deserve a chance before anyone else.

well said there

India deserved the series win, no question about that

Im very much looking forward to seeing how they shape up vs the poms, and more importantly vs pakistan and NZ (both away series), two nations pretty much depleted of a lot of their main strike weapons and experienced players for one reason or another. If India can win these next 3 test series, and win them well, then they are well on the right train track, express to central no stops.

Australia need to regroup and do well vs NZ, and then perform out of their skins vs the kallis inspired south africans. I dare say SA seem to have a lot of experience and strike power from 1-11, and of course the great jaques covers everything

Some great test match cricket coming up over the next 6 months around the globe

cheers
