I’ve just seen on reddit we’re leaving out Finch and MMarsh for Labuschagne and Handscomb.

Ok then.

I've taken to going for a 5-10km walk a few times a week, cos of injury, and throwing on a podcast rather than listening to music.

The Grade Cricketer is obviously a favourite, they are absolutely savage on the Labuschagne selection in their latest offering. And they raise some good points. Like, Labuschagne wouldn't be in the top 25 players in the country, on ability or form...what the hell is he doing in the Test side while guys like Burns and Renshaw and Wade and others are being overlooked? What sort of message does it send to the spinners and the spinning all rounders when they pick a guy like Labuschagne ostensibly for his bowling, and what does it say to the batsman that they're picking a bloke ostensibly bowling and then batting him in the top six?

It's an absolutely disgraceful selection the more you think about it and there are probably twenty players who could feel aggrieved for different reasons

f**k Meek Marsh off. What is wrong with these dense pricks, he's as useful as Michael J Fox's measuring cups

As Chappelli said when asked about the team selections for the fourth test - why replace a guy who averages 35 with another guy who averages 35?

Believe it or not, the selectors did pick on early shield form.

Labuschagne's selection is the result of that elusive search for the mythical allrounder.

Yeah Finch's Shield form was scintillating opening for Victoria...

They picked on form and whatever other unseen preferences they apply to selecting the side. If they picked it on form alone, Burns would be there over Finch and Mitch Marsh wouldn't have been recalled.

They have always picked on some kind of form/gut combo. It’s just everyone stinks right now so all the calls are disasters so they really should be picking on form because at least they can justify that

Finch did ok in the UAE and only played one shield game.

Burns hasn't scored a century this season.

Marsh scored 151 against Qld and can bowl and was selected as the mythical allrounder.

One area that people don't want to think about is Paine only averaged in the mid twenties (without even a half century) while Carey averages 70+.

Seems we've a Mike Brearley in the team.

Carey has played two Shield games this season. His average in those two games doesn't mean that much, given his career average is 29.43

Marsh failed in both disciplines in the immediate Shield matches before his recall.

Burns hasn't scored a century? You're happy to pin your flag on a knobhead who hasn't scored a hundred in England for the Ashes, but because Burns hasn't got a hundred he deserves to miss out for a bloke who "did ok on the UAE"?

Burns is averaging 47 in the Shield this year, hundreds or no. He absolutely should be there over Finch

Lol you're still sooking over Warner.

At least Warner can score centuries on flat decks unlike Burns. Interesting how all of a sudden centuries are menanginess to you.

MMarsh scored 151 and they needed someone to bowl 40 overs. So it was him or Stoinis or Handscomb.

Once again it's just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic until the others return.

They aren't meaningless, because this isn't binary. Joe Burns is averaging 47 as an opening batsman, and has international experience and test match hundreds, and our Test opener is a walking wicket

Or I could take your know-nothing approach, and just as easily point out how interesting it is that they are suddenly meaningful to you...

Lol this from a guy who doesn't want a world class test opener with 20 odd centuries.

Interestingly Burns's shield average this season is less than Warner's last tour of England.....

I think you're definitely showing your dickheadedness.

Burns isn't a widely acknowledged cancer in the dressing room. Burns isn't a remorseless cheat who genuinely believes he is the victim, having been nicked. Burns doesn't abuse blokes and then run off the field in tears, or try and go them in a stair well, when they dare to retaliate.

Warner can have all his flat-track hundreds and the two genuinely high quality ones he's scored. If he wasn't an absolute track-head, he'd have the full support of the Aussie public for an instant return.

You, on the other hand, are seemingly too stupid to understand how much a loose cannon like him can drag a side down. I'm more than happy for someone like you to think I'm a dickhead, because it means I'm going ok.

Lol...just let that bile out.

Lol we've reached the stage where a bloke who scored 2 test centuries (and none according to Meth ie Bancroft) will save the team.

If he was so good he would've been scoring centuries in the shield mate.

Now enjoy the rest of the summer.

And take delight in the uselessness of this team was in fact due to the hysteria of people like you....

Lol.

The only hysterical person here is you, champion. Still banging the rattle over poor little Davey's suspension.

He'd be in the team right now over both Finch and Burns if he wasn't a cancerous little haemorrhoid on the anus of Australian cricket. But he's banned, so we need the best person right now. And if you don't think that's Joe Burns then you're quite frankly dumber than I ever suspected.

Lol I can't wait for the meltdown when Warner gets picked again.

As for Joe Burns he needed to score centuries mate.

You know those centuries that Warner couldn't score in England.....

Hopefully Joe gets his game together (and learns how to play spin).

Just when you thought foxsports couldn't get any worse than the poorly researched, clickbait shit they churn out these days....they had a BBL catch video headlined as a "mark" the other day, now this shite:

Am I missing something?

What's wrong with speccy? I mean it's childish as balls but otherwise?

The scourge of AFL is spreading!

Really? Huh.

We used to call great catches speccies as juniors, in West Pennant Hills, in 1992...I genuinely didn't know what AFL was back then.

Also I just made myself feel really old.
