Australia has played 2,729 international matches (men & women combined), but for the first time, their playing XI does not feature a single player aged between 20 and 29.

Australia's playing XI ages in this Test:

19 year old Sam Konstas
38 year old Usman Khawaja
30 year old Marnus Labuschagne
35 year old Steve Smith
30 year old Travis Head.
33 year old Mitchell Marsh
33 year old Alex Carey
31 year old Pat Cummins
34 year old Mitchell Starc
37 year old Nathan Lyon
35 year old Scott Boland

We old.

I think come ashes , or within the next 12 months we will have some younger guys in the side

Cam Green 25yo, replaces Marsh - no brainer
Id Imagine McSweeney will make it back at some point , he is 25yo
Really need to move Lyon on soon, we are acting like there is no one else around
Maybe next summers ashes is his last test series?? Todd Murphy is 24yo
Josh Inglis is 29yo, though will be 30+ when replaces Carey if no one else pops up

Potential bowlers
Jhy Richardson is 28yo, if he buys an iron man suit
Spencer Johnson 29yo
Xavier Bartlett 26yo

My summary of yesterday,

Kholi is a bigger merkin than he was on Day 1, there was an easy run there

Boland really making it hard for Hazlewood, although they are both the same type of bowler

Smudger, well batted, class is permanent.

MMarsh is once again useless.

The Boat does not seem to trouble India in any way. We desperately need a wrist spinner when he retires.
