I like Smiths interview on ABC radio at stumps, very humble said he would have liked to have gotten a test ton earlier (playing in his 12th test now). Asked about that six to get him to the ton, he said he was thinking about it and asked Haddin for advice, Haddin said "just have a clear mind" lol

Hopefully he has sewn up one of the middle order spots for a long time to come. Looking forward to him having a cracker series down under. We just need Warner and Sunshine to be consistant (consistently good) and find a decent no6, and all of a sudden our top 6 looks alright

Smith and Watson were two of the most hated players in the Ashes build up threads.
Just sayin...

Great to see Smiffy do well but gee I gotta say he is a flat track bully.

Ball was doing nothing much like his feet. How he did well in India I dont know but he certainly hasn't read the test book. Not bagging the guy just commenting on his technique, as Ido.

Eye like a dead fish as they say and very good hand eye co-ordination. Good on him if he can get away with it.

Twatto still remains in my most hated. Has a lot more to do than score a hundred on a flat pitch in a test that has no bearing on a series result to get in the good books.

Smith as Twiz says has a poor technique but he has proven over the last couple of series that he's playing for his country, not his career. We need more like him in the team.

Agree on Smith, he is still not technically the best but as Twiz has said he has a great eye. I still think with the ball in hand can can offer Australia plenty. Plus he fields like a bookmaker on cup day.

Watsons hate is a given considering for how long he has under performed along with his arrogance and ego , not sure anyone will be surprised by that.

Thought there was more Warner and Hughes hate than Smith prior to the ashes to be honest.

I thought most people were surprised Smith wasn't in the original touring party????

Watson has been hated on this place for ages, for goo reason but i don't think anybody questioned his talent.

That's a bit harsh! I don't see so many problems with his technique. Gives it the full face, likes to get down the track and go over the top despite what you are saying about his lack of footwork. He does look awkward sometimes but I don't see any real flaws. I like his attitude the most though. Backs himself and is a fighter. Calling him a flat track bully is particularly harsh, I think he will turn out to be the opposite of that.

Twizzle is spot on.

This pitch is the road to end all roads. It's made Watson and Smith look like world beaters and makes for a boring test match.

Thought Kerrigan bowled really well without much luck...

Seriously the poms are mocking us with their two awful debutants.
