Motherf**king endless LOLs at Australia for losing to the worst England team in Ashes history to ever grace their own shores. And more LOLs at losing to an England team with such a criminally bad batting line up.

Seriously, Lyth, a past his best Cook, a well last his best Bell, Bairstow/Ballance, Buttler... absolute plodder central and Australia got smacked in 3 of 4 live tests. I just can't fathom it. Did I mention Adam f**king Lyth?

Where's that Nun with the bell from Game of Thrones when you need her?

Shame! Shame! Shame!

Our batting line up is bad too lol.

Both sides are held together by a young batsman. Englands bowlers are just better in England though.

You guys would want to sort out a few of those batting spots before the away ashes though based on some of the weak ways they got out here.

But bowling is the most important thing in test cricket.

So good and yet so frustrating in the context of the series.

I can (just) cop the first test performance as a case of being caught on the hop, but recent performances were a case of boys against men when it really should have been a more even contest. For the winning Ashes side to (likely) get absolutely pumped in home conditions in 2 of the games says we've f**ked up hard here on a variety of fronts.

Much to learn to from this.

Root, Stokes, and the tail have done all the batting damage, with the occasional cameo from someone higher up the order.

Bowling wise Stuart Broad has been magnificent. Player of the series for mine. Even when other blokes were getting the wickets, we had no answer to Broad's exceptional line and length and late swing.

This ashes series has been a good advertisement for derping. So much cheeseburger in both line ups.

Basically every wicket lost to Ali should not have been. Terrible cricket.

Not taking heaps from this test, Poms phoning it in. We were terrible when it mattered.

Although Lyon has bowled quite well all series, with little to bowl at 2/4 tests.

Yep, agree 100%

Haha no way. There are a bunch of pommy batsmen playing for their careers in the short term. Lyth, Bell, Bairstow and buttler all have huge question marks over their playing future.

Wind in the chip on your shoulder and use your brain.

If we had another series in Australia in 3 months - thank Jesus we don't - I've no doubt we'd lose 5 nil again.

England desperately need to produce another 3 or 4 quality batsmen and a couple of next gen seamers to take over from Anderson if we are to get close to Australia on their turf.

The flat track bully boys are still extremely hard to beat on their own turf. Even if you currently have massive holes of your own in your line up.

There are just little quirks in the way English players bat that won't translate well to australia. It's the reverse of the Australians in England

Batsmen are very upright with baseball bat stances. Not easy to remain balanced in australia batting like that. Root out driving on the up all the time. What a weird thing that technique that works in England won't work in australia and vice versa.

That no ball from Finn was ridiculous.

The umpires have obviously stopped looking.

May as well check the no ball for every dismissal.

He has to bat at 6 to be in the team and has scored 50 runs over 3 tests

He's not a 6. His first class record is way worse than Nevill's and he only has 3 first class centuries at an average of 30. This team cannot afford to carry him at 6.

Happened with Doug Walters as well.
