Hard to contemplate a 2017 halves purchase.. with Hutchinson still in the equation, unless there are other complications we dont know about... however there is still scope for 1 decent player to either come off the bench, or perhaps be backup fullback or halves.. but were only speculating because there is 12mths of footy to play yet and we will know which young blokes kick on and which dont.

Now that we have a reasonable squad, I think it best to recruit players, who at least are at the same standard as those moving on - especially for our spine. If we lose potential juniors so be it. We must remain competitive above all else.

For those juniors who can't bide their time in the lower grades and do move on, we should ensure it is on good terms and with our best wishes. Hopefully we can pick them up later when they are proven first graders.

Guys heard on rumour mill this morning on 2ue, that Reynolds could be in Dragns site? Same guy who was stating this also was 1st to confirm Sam Burgess return? Anyone else heard about this???

I see where you're coming from. I have to disagree though, given AR is only 25 & one of the better 1/2's, reports are that he's after 500k a year. IMO that's value for a player of his standing. Great kicking game, good passing game, can steer a side around and can close a game out. If we are a chance, i'd take him in a heartbeat. Especially if he settles in & enjoys being out of Sydney he could become a long term half for us.

We are Ok in the halves atm. In fact we are fine overall.
Gaz given the Captaincy, and Benji plying for a contract.
Whatever eventuates thereafter, is fine by me. Hutch / Reynolds / who ever.

Adam Reynolds is miles behind JT and Cronk but he's miles in front of whoever's next be it as a 6 or 7.
How he hasn't played for NSW yet is just indicative of one of the reasons NSW has won 1 from 10.

My opinion of Adam Reynolds is very high. He has been injured over the past 3 years when SOO came around. He is the best NSW half on my assessment.

I can not see Hutchinson being any more than a solid 1 st grader at best. He lacks that zip and factor for a half back. JT, Cronk, Benji, Hunt, Adam Reynolds and yes Jack Bird have it. You either have it or not and Hutchinson doesn't. Not bagging him anyone who plays NRL has talent.

Add also that Reynolds can kick goals as good as anyone. Therefore, a top buy if swapping for Benji.

Benji will step up a gear this year w Dugan outside him along w Frizell as running targets.. I'm predicting most try assists by a player this year to Benji...
