Adelaide Bears - Is Adelaide the right fit for Norths?

For the NRL club yes but for flying players across for QLD Cup or NSW Cup when not used in NRL I don’t think so.
The feeder club won't be funding NRL squad players travel or accommodation. Their sole role is being a development team.

As of 2024, the Titans and Cowboys will field there own teams in the QCup, so every team bar the two or three linked to the Broncos and Dolphins will be available.

And even then those links are more of a "gentleman's agreement" and can be easily renegotiated.

Teams like the Burleigh Bears, Townsville Blackhawks (Brothers) all have big pokie dens also.

Someone like Wentworthville or Mounties might be interested aswell.

Melbourne have two QLD Cup sides, the Dolphins have three QLD Cup sides, the Roosters have one QLD Cup side and the Broncos have just linked with the Burleigh Bears as well as having Wynnum Manly.

Lookin

Looking at the NSW Cup sides all besides Newtown (Cronulla), Blacktown Workers (Manly), Western Suburbs (Wests Tigers) and the Bears are reserve grade teams of their NRL counterparts.
Out of those NSW Cup sides the Bears easily have the most established NRL pathway.
Apart from Easts Tigers could any other QLD Cup side afford the cost of involved with being associated with a WA based side ?.

Possibly Wynnum Manly.

Possibly Wynnum Manly.
And what would Wynnum Manly get out of it ?, why would they turn their backs on a existing partnership of many years with the Broncos to travel over to the other side of the Country for the same scenario (feeder club arrangement) for a new club that is finding its feet ?.

The Broncos have been around for 35 years, Wynnum have been linked for a fraction of that. There is opportunity beyond just the Bears, is my point.

The feeder club gets access to NRL squad players and NRL funding, that's what they get out of it.

Wynnum or any other club don't give a shit how long a plane flight might be a player, that's no skin if there noses.

My point is, and remains, is that the Bears offer nothing that other clubs can't, and have unreasonable demands

And no other club will travel across the ditch without those exact same demands as they already have feeder club arrangements with already established NRL clubs virtually in the next suburb.

Can the Bears just fk off and stay dead already.

This tiny glimmer of "hope" every year or so must be very deflating to their supporters....actually now I think about it, that perfectly sums up the Bears history in a nutshell.
The Bears have been around since 1908 and will be around long after you are gone from this plain of existence buddy.

You know "across the ditch" means to travel to New Zealand right? Not WA?

Why do you keep saying "club", dont you mean players? Plenty of players will join the WA system for the opportunity to play NRL, this isn't really an issue.

And even if this was an issue, what are Norths offering thats unique in dealing with this issue?

All feeder club games will be held in their local geography (just like the Storm and Warriors have done over the years), the only travel is the 2 or 3 squad players that may get called up from week to week.

Would other feeder clubs demand their colours, brand, board members and games at their tiny oval? None of the existing feeder arrangement "demand" anything of the sort.

Okay you’re not getting it, let’s make it simple for you, why would a club like Wynnum Manly get rid of an existing arrangement with the Broncos who are virtually a suburb away for their players to travel to the other side of the Country for a WA team, to only be a feeder club ?. Would the unused players make it back in time for game day ?, training sessions ?.
I know a player with Wynnum Manly, he attends Broncos training regularly and is not a contracted NRL player, they also do opposed sessions with the Broncos squad.

I totally understand your point, but this is an issue for any out of NSW/QLD team though (the Storm, the Warriors etc.) so its got some precedent.

Also this would be just as much of a problem for Norths, so how do you think they would magically solve it?

You raise a good point and maybe the better solution is to partner with a club not in the top tier and focus on U19's down and have the reserve grade side play in NSW cup out of Perth? Someone like Mounties who are cash rich might be keen to launch jnr programs and elite jnr programs at HM Ball and SG Ball that feed directly to a Pirates perth club. That would seem a more logical solution. Find a QRL club willing to do same and we have jnr pathways in each state feeding reserve grade and 1st grade in Perth, along with a WA system.

Besides the Bears option this is the only way I can see happening for a team based in WA.
