Dude, i just blew your assertion that he "barely lasted 10 mins" out of the water. You realise that dont you?

Now all you have got is he was "puffing and blowing"..LMAO (again)..

Keep em coming....

An athletic freak like him wouldnt last 3 minutes in a top level Rugby League game which is far faster than a northern hemisphere third grade game of union, which is usually fought like they are in trenches. Now imagine one of those 350lbs so called monsters trying to keep up past 30 seconds of pure sprinting...........lol.

Your video that you have used as proof that NFL players cannot play rugby or league has been debunked. Completely and utterly debunked. That video does not support your argument.

If an AFL player can play football and actually take and dish out some big hits then so can a rugby league player........

Play the ball == of downs, attacking team with downs/ptb defensive team...yes you fool.

You do realise the pads etc were introduced to avoid death!! Rugby instead changed the rules (flying wedges under shoulder hits, no blocking).

Having played all three codes to a decent level I can assure you there are many similarities.

Flying wedges looks scarily like maul to you? actually I think it did come from rugby....the only thing is that rugby kept it while AF nannied its players and banned it.

"During kickoff plays, teams made use of a loophole in the old rule that required the offense to kick the ball, but did not specify that the receiver had to be on the opposing team. Amos Alonzo Stagg, a Yale All-American in 1889 and later one of the game's greatest coaches, recalled that "the subterfuge was conceived of inch-kicking," whereby the kicker made an "inch kick" to himself, thus retaining possession of the ball. He would then hand it back to a teammate in a play called the V-wedge, "and the slow-moving mass of players clinging to one another moved forward in a slow lock-step run. The strategy was to open an aperture at a certain point of the wedge, through which the imprisoned runner would dart."

It's a fact.

Linemen might not make a single tackle in an entire game and go their whole career without running with the ball. Running Backs might go their entire career without making a tackle Players other than the quarterback are EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN by the coaching staff to 'pitch' (pass) the ball.

Let's have a look at one of the 'elite' Padball players who I have been repeatedly assured would 'kill any Rugby player' by American fanboys:

Julius Peppers - 9 seasons in the NFL - average number of tackles per game: THREE!

(1) Linemen...I'm assuming here you mean defensive linemen? Of course they barely tackle - their function is to stuff the line of scrimmage and if lucky get a sack/facilitate a sack for another player or tackle the RB.

(2) Offensive linemen don't make tackles - they block.

(3) Running backs not making tackles...Yeah, that'd be because they are not supposed to tackle. They run and catch. And block.

(4) A 'picth' is not a pass.

(5) Nobody but a QB can pass the ball, eh? So explain Wild Cats. Explain fake punt/fake field goal pass plays.

Julius Peppers, a defensive end, is your example? So because he doesn't make many tackles he's useless? By your logic Nathan Hindmarsh is the greatest league player of all time and, as much as I adore the guy, we all know that is not the case.

I'm not sure Peppers would "kill" league players, but the guy is a monster athlete. He's tall, he's huge, he's mobile, he's quick, he's strong and despite what you claim he's fit. Your average NFL defensive tackle or offensive lineman are great athletes. As are NRL players.

NRL players would fail at NFL. NFL players would fail at NRL.

Why is this so hard to understand?

And what's this crap about "so-called monsters"? Albert Haynesworth is a million years old, plays only a limited amount of snaps a game these days and still dominates - watch the highlights. He's regularly destroying double and even triple blocks.

But that's the thing - he's a man whose skills are to use his speed and incredible size and strength to man-handle opponents out of his way.

The best part is how all the ridiculous padding absorbed the impact and he wasn't fazed in the least.

"NOOOOOOOO....the superior Padball athletes would instantly kill ANY League or AFL player foolish enough to set foot on the gridiron! LALALALAALALALALA...I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!1"

I actually think that a RL player has more success adopting the game (maybe not the rules) as compared to an NFL player to league. This is because a league player should already know how to catch, pass, run with the ball and tackle making them more suitable to more positions whilst you cant have a rugby league player who might only know how to pass but nothing else.

Instantly kill is very over rated. As far as im concerned if an AFL player can mix it up with them then a rugby league man should have no problem what so ever.

I reckon NBA players would have a better chance of adapting to league. Most of them are athletic freaks with awesome spacial awareness, handling, split second agility and the ability to think on their feet. Their cardiovascular fitness is already good. Sure it's not a contact sport but they'd still have a better skill set for league than most NFL players. Can you imagine someone like Lebron James playing centre?

I think it would make for a fascinating documentary, If you could get the funding...

You get a College running back 'cast off' at age 21-22 (but with talent, fitness and drive, y'know, one who only just missed out). Maybe someone from the ghetto or something for the human interest angle.. Bring him to Australia around November, give him a grounding in the game. A full pre season with a club, specialised coaching, then GENTLY lower him into NSW cup at the back end of the season... Give him another pre season, then see if he can make it. All of this would have to be with the one club, obviously.

The club could fund the trip with a view to the film royalties (zif Rusty couldnt do something like this) and the NRL could back it as it would give exposure to it in the States. People in the mid-west would eat this stuff up.

Would settle this argument I reckon.
