Ummm he was punted by Griffin as well yeh?

So thus far every player that has spoken out about him has motive.
Yep. They all have motive to have waited until the coach left the club that sacked them before aiming comments at the coach that basically back the club.

The theme is universal across former players at both Panthers and Broncos. But we didn't need players to tell us... we can see how he coaches with our own eyes. Creative players gradually turn into robots with little variety in what they do. Until we have basically lost a game and they throw the gameplan out the window.

Or they were forced to look at new clubs. Either way Hook isn't going to succeed with a young roster and his coaching philosophy. Thats why his record against top 4 sides is terrible. Its all but impossible to beat them with that 'gameplan'.

He tied to paint himself in the best light.

He took pride in the fact only 6 players remained from his 2016 squad... as if the more players he replaced it somehow made us better.

Gus has never hidden the fact he wanted a coach who didnt try to coach shit out of players. His coaching philosophy has been known for a long time.

Hook refused to take it on board. Why would we want to be a develop club that develops robots and is constantly getting rid of yhem as they're experienced for the next group to develop.

There's no room to improve with Hook.

He was pointing at the fact only 6 remain because he’s pushed through the juniors which we’ve all wanted to happen. Maybe I’m wrong but That’s how I heard it anyway.

I have a major issue with him using assistant coaches to destabilise the head coach & in turn destabilise the team, our team.

Can’t understand why more hasn’t been made of such a serious accusation.

That part was a little disturbing.

Griffin did conduct himself well.

I was just calling out things that didn't sound right, like the lower grades being a mess - completely ignoring the 2 Holden Cup premierships in 2013 and 2015, with both of those squads making up a large component of our current NRL squad.
Exactly.

I believe him about our players fitness. Although his first encounter with them was after sn off-season where players often let themselves go.

But he definitely improved their fitness.

However our planz for juniors pre-dated him. That was the first thing Gus did. And the academy was in the works long before him too.

Garth Brennan and Ivan Cleary had our juniors well on the way to what they are now. Go back snd look at the stacked lower grade sides we had FFS. Lol. All he did was clear out a lot of experience each season to add more kids to the top squad. Which seemed to be his plan every year

Its was a job interview for him and nothing more

That's bullshit Umina and I know you know that. You are not that stupid.

Griffin's day's as a head coach in the NRL are over and he know's that.

He had an opportunity to unload on Gus or the Panthers Club and he didn't.

Whether you like or dislike the guy anyone who doesn't think he didn't conduct himself in the most dignified manner is just plain wrong.

He wasn't the coach to take us to the next level but he deserves a lot more credit than he is given for, particularly after tonight on NRL 360.

There is too many good young coaches. No one will hire a coach in their 50's... Barring Bellamy or Bennett.

Gus himself said he wanted 80% local squad.

That is the point for me too. Regardless of your thoughts on the coach. The 2 should be seperate

That's what the sacked coach says happened.

He refused to work with Gus. HE didnt trust Ciraldo. His version confirms a lot of rumours but his story obviously makes him sound like the victim.

He thinks he built our juniors to be what they are today ffs. But that's easily proven erong since results show the success came pretty much immediately after Gus arrived. And our academy was plsnned before his arrival slso.

Funny how former players have a motive we can't trust. But you trust a former coach who essentially confirms a lot of what is said in rumours, by Gus and former players.

He mentioned pathway. Wouldn't that be a pathway?

Farrrrrrk the comments on here are ridiculous.

Did he say even one thing that people couldn’t see Gus doing?

No doubt he used Ciraldo to manipulate the situation & destabilise the coach & the club but let’s just ignore that & scream bloody murder about the time Griffin went to the dressing sheds 5 mins early when his team was losing by 30.

It might be hard to listen too but He made some very relevant & disturbing points.
I didn't think anything was disturbing. Gus tried to get Hook to listen when it was apparent that his methods weren't going to get us too the next level. I don't see a problem with that. I don't see a problem with him trying to influence him through Ciraldo. Where is the issue? It's good leadership to offer help when somebody needs it. Is is poor leadership to refuse the help.

Exactly.

Rumours were Hook refused to use the resources he had. Specifically personnel. He confirmed that he refused to take what his boss wanted into consideration.

Going 4 to 6 weeks without even a proper conversation. Its honestly amazing the club had his back for as long as he did.

Forget all of the above.

The biggest issue is if you believe what Gus said on the podcast he has been undermined in all of this.

He clearly said he was going to address the issues at the end of the season but it was brought to a head by the actions of Dave O'Neill which were only brought to his attention last Friday?

That is the biggest concern? The Chairman of the Board, Chief of the Executive initiated certain action which were not known at that time to Gus Gould who up until now controlled everything!!!!!

I am just not sure where we go from here and I am certainly not sure I want to know.

I am with you there. Changes need to happen over the off season. Defined roles is a good start
